Senior MEP Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Engineer to play a key technical role in the delivery of complex and high-profile building projects. The position requires a strong engineering professional with extensive experience in MEP systems, multidisciplinary coordination, technical development, and project delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking technical ownership of MEP packages, ensuring that engineering solutions are well-developed, fully coordinated, practical, compliant, and aligned with project requirements. The role will involve close collaboration with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, clients, authorities, and other project stakeholders throughout the different stages of the project.The Senior MEP Engineer will be actively involved from early-stage project development through detailed design, tender, construction, and handover, providing technical input, reviewing deliverables, resolving complex engineering and coordination issues, and supporting the project team in achieving high-quality outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Take technical ownership of assigned MEP packages throughout concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction stages.Develop, review, and coordinate building services systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, ELV, and associated MEP systems, according to area of specialization.Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, equipment schedules, drawings, and technical documentation.Lead day-to-day technical coordination with Architecture, Structural, Interior Design, and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated project solutions.Review and resolve technical interfaces, design conflicts, coordination issues, and engineering challenges across disciplines.Ensure MEP solutions are technically sound, practical, efficient, and aligned with project requirements, budgets, timelines, and applicable standards.Review Revit MEP models, AutoCAD drawings, BIM deliverables, and coordinated MEP documentation.Participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, and model reviews using Revit and Navisworks.Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions, method statements, and contractor proposals to ensure compliance with approved requirements.Provide technical support during construction and assist in resolving site-related MEP issues, RFIs, technical queries, and coordination requirements.Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical and project-related matters.Support authority submissions, technical comments, revisions, and approvals in accordance with UAE requirements.Ensure compliance with relevant UAE authorities and regulations, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, DDA, Trakhees, RTA, and other applicable authorities.Apply relevant international standards and codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IPC, SMACNA, BS, and applicable UAE regulations.Contribute to value engineering and technical optimization, identifying opportunities to improve performance, constructability, sustainability, efficiency, and cost.Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of MEP deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.Participate in client meetings, design reviews, technical workshops, site meetings, and coordination meetings as required.Monitor assigned technical deliverables and coordinate with the wider project team to ensure timely and successful project delivery.Maintain clear technical records and ensure project comments, revisions, and coordination requirements are properly addressed.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.Minimum 12 years of relevant MEP engineering experience.Strong experience working on UAE projects, preferably within a reputable engineering consultancy.Proven experience across major project sectors including residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use, high-rise, and large-scale developments.Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Protection, ELV, and Building Services Engineering, according to specialization.Strong understanding of UAE authority requirements and approval processes, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, DDA, Trakhees, RTA, and other relevant authorities.Good knowledge of international engineering standards and codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IPC, SMACNA, BS, and applicable UAE regulations.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP with a strong understanding of BIM coordination workflows.Good working knowledge of Navisworks and multidisciplinary coordination.Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, material submissions, RFIs, and construction documentation.Strong understanding of design intent, constructability, site coordination, and project execution.Ability to independently handle complex technical matters and provide practical engineering solutions.Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and project teams.Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple technical priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
