Senior Microbiologist – R&D (Agri-Biologicals)Location: Coimbatore, Tamil NaduExperience: Around 15 YearsFunction: Research & DevelopmentIndustry: Agri-Biologicals / Bio-Inputs / Microbial ProductsAbout the OrganizationOur client is a well-established agri-science organization engaged in research, development and manufacturing of sustainable agricultural inputs and biological solutions, with a strong focus on crop productivity, plant nutrition and biological crop protection.Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior Microbiologist – R&D with strong expertise in microbial product development, fermentation and formulation development for agricultural biological products.The incumbent will lead R&D activities from strain/culture development and fermentation through formulation development, process optimization, scale-up and technology transfer to commercial production.Key ResponsibilitiesLead R&D and development of microbial / agri-biological products.Develop and optimize OD, SL and SC formulations.Handle fermentation processes and fermenters from laboratory/pilot to commercial scale.Strong working exposure to SSF, SMF, SCF and related fermentation/process technologies.Develop and optimize microbial culture, media and fermentation parameters.Improve microbial yield, viability, stability, shelf life and formulation performance.Lead process scale-up and technology transfer from R&D to production.Troubleshoot fermentation and formulation-related process issues.Conduct product stability, efficacy and quality studies.Prepare SOPs, protocols, technical reports and R&D documentation.Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Regulatory and Product Development teams.Mentor and guide junior R&D/Microbiology team members.Candidate ProfileM.Sc./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Microbiology / Industrial Microbiology / Biotechnology / related discipline.Around 15 years of relevant experience, preferably in an Agri-Biological / Bio-Inputs organization.Strong hands-on experience in OD, SL and SC formulation development.Strong experience with fermenters and SSF/SMF/SCF processes.Proven exposure to process optimization, scale-up and commercialization of microbial products.Strong analytical, troubleshooting and R&D documentation capabilities.Key Search SkillsAgri-Biologicals | Microbial Formulations | OD | SL | SC | Fermentation | Fermenters | SSF | SMF | SCF | Process Scale-Up | Bio-Inputs | Microbial Product Development
