With a strong international presence and significant backing from leading investors, the business is building scalable digital care platforms that improve patient outcomes while reducing healthcare costs across employers, insurers, and healthcare providers.Their AI function is expanding rapidly and they are now looking to hire an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Applied AI team focused on developing intelligent healthcare products at scale.The team is working across a broad range of AI initiatives, including conversational AI, clinical decision support, personalised treatment systems, and next-generation digital care experiences. The environment combines cutting-edge Generative AI techniques with traditional machine learning approaches, depending on the use case and clinical need.The RoleYou’ll play a key role in designing, building, deploying, and improving AI/ML solutions used in production environments. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong cross-functional exposure, working closely with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver impactful AI-powered features.Key responsibilities include:Designing, developing, evaluating, and deploying machine learning solutions into productionBuilding and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support model training and evaluationCollaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-driven product capabilitiesContributing to best practices across machine learning engineering and model operationsSupporting and mentoring colleagues within the AI/ML functionIdentifying opportunities to introduce AI and automation capabilities across the platformNavigating ambiguity and balancing technical quality with speed-to-value deliveryRequirements4+ years of commercial experience in Machine Learning or Applied AIProven experience building and maintaining production-grade ML systemsStrong Python and SQL skills, alongside solid software engineering fundamentalsExperience with the Python data ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc.)Experience leading technically complex projects from concept through deploymentAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersComfortable working in fast-moving, evolving environmentsDesirable ExperienceExperience building scalable data processing pipelinesExposure to LLMs, Generative AI, RAG systems, or agentic workflowsCloud platform experience (AWS or GCP)Previous experience in high-growth or product-led technology environmentsThis is an opportunity to join a mission-driven business solving meaningful real-world problems with AI, while working on technically challenging products at significant scale.
