Job Title: Senior Mobile Developer (Android) Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid)Duration: 1 yearRate: CAD50-CAD52/hr Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Developer (Android) with strong expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance Android applications. This role requires close collaboration with product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.Build scalable and maintainable mobile solutions leveraging the Android SDK and modern Android development practices.Develop intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces following Material Design principles.Implement modern Android UI using Jetpack Compose.Utilize Android Jetpack components including ViewModel, LiveData, Room, Navigation, and WorkManager.Integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, third-party SDKs, and external libraries.Implement secure authentication, push notifications, JSON parsing, and data synchronization.Apply MVVM and Clean Architecture principles to deliver maintainable and testable applications.Develop robust offline capabilities and caching mechanisms to improve user experience.Write clean, reusable, well-documented, and high-quality code.Create and maintain unit tests and UI tests to ensure application reliability.Diagnose and resolve performance issues, crashes, memory leaks, and production defects.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making.Collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver features on schedule.Ensure applications meet security, scalability, performance, and usability standards.Support application deployment and release management through Google Play Store and CI/CD pipelines.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience in Android application development.Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for modern Android UI development.Solid understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and design patterns.Experience integrating REST APIs and backend services.Expertise in implementing offline storage, caching, and data synchronization strategies.Strong knowledge of Android Jetpack components.Experience with unit testing, UI testing, and test-driven development practices.Proficiency in debugging, performance optimization, memory management, and application profiling.Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Must-Have SkillsKotlinJetpack ComposeMVVM / Clean ArchitectureREST API IntegrationOffline & Caching StrategiesUnit TestingDebugging & Performance ProfilingNice-to-Have SkillsCoroutines and FlowDependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger)Firebase ServicesGoogle Play Store Release ManagementCI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Android Security Best Practices
