About the CompanyA Toronto-based consumer startup is scaling a live social platform where users engage with real-time debates across sports, entertainment, and culture. Since launch less than a year ago, the product has grown to hundreds of thousands of users and processed eight figures in transaction volume, driven almost entirely by organic social reach. The team is small, moves fast, and ships to a large live audience every week. The RoleThe company is hiring a mobile-focused engineer to own the native iOS and Android experience end to end, from feature development through release. This is a hands-on build role for someone who wants direct ownership of a live consumer product, is comfortable shipping fast, and doesn't mind stepping into backend, DevOps, or data work when a feature calls for it. Strong candidates are equally comfortable in Swift or Kotlin and can operate independently across the release pipeline. What You Will DoBuild and ship new features across native iOS and Android apps used by a large, fast-growing audience. Own the mobile release process from testing through app store submission and rollout. Deliver polished UI with real-time data and animation, tuned for performance. Partner with backend engineers on API design and real-time data streams when mobile features need it. Work across CI/CD, analytics instrumentation, and production monitoring to keep the app fast and stable. What You BringProven experience shipping native mobile apps, with deep expertise in either Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Compose and working comfort in both ecosystems. Strong grasp of mobile architecture, state management, and performance profiling. Working knowledge of relational databases, schema design, and migrations. Some backend exposure; comfort picking up a modern server-side language is valued. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. Why This RoleThis is full ownership of the mobile surface for a live product already in front of hundreds of thousands of users, with the team's growth trajectory still early. The engineer in this seat will work directly with the founding team, ship weekly to a real audience, and shape the mobile roadmap as the company scales.
