Operating at the intersection of EdTech and HealthTech, we are a fast-moving, high-growth startup building robust, enterprise-grade learning technologies.THE ROLE:Orfiq is hiring a Senior / Tech Lead Mobile Engineer to take a leading role in building, scaling, and evolving our mobile platform across iOS and Android.This is a senior hands-on engineering role for someone who can operate beyond featuredelivery — shaping mobile architecture, API integrations, engineering standards, scalability, and technical direction as the product grows toward enterprise-level adoption.You’ll work closely with frontend, backend, and web app teams across React Native, TypeScript, FastAPI, Node.js, .NET, and Azure.Operating in an agile, low-bureaucracy startup culture, you will have high technical autonomy while collaborating daily with engineering leadership, product owners, and cross-functional team members based in the United Kingdom.⚠️ Selection Process Notice: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a mandatory 10–15 minute automated AI video interview round as the immediate next step in our screening workflow. Please apply only if you are comfortable completing an asynchronous AI technical video screen upon selection.WHAT YOU WILL DO: ● Mobile Architecture & Scalability: Lead the architecture, development, and continuous optimization of scalable cross-platform applications across iOS and Android using React Native and TypeScript.● Platform Evolution: Transition our mobile architecture from early/growth stage into a rock-solid enterprise platform built for high concurrency, deep data security, and long-term maintainability.● API Integration & BFF Strategy: Design and integrate scalable RESTful APIs and mobile-facing backend services. Define clean API contracts and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns interfacing with FastAPI (Python), Node.js, and ASP.NET Core backends.● Native Platform Extension: Step outside React Native to write native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) code whenever performance, hardware access, or native platform APIs demand it.● Security & Governance: Implement enterprise-grade authentication, authorization, SSO integration (OAuth2, JWT), and secure encrypted on-device caching.● Store & Release Automation: Own mobile CI/CD pipelines, code signing, staged rollouts, OTA updates, and production deployment across the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.● Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering team and leadership in the UK, driving architectural alignment, running code reviews, and establishing engineering best practices.Required Technical Skills & Competencies● Mobile Engineering Experience: 5+ years of professional mobile development experience, with a proven track record operating at a Senior Engineer or Tech Lead level.● React Native & TypeScript: Deep commercial mastery of React Native, TypeScript,modern React paradigms (hooks, concurrency, state management), and mobile performance tuning.● Architectural System Design: Demonstrable experience designing mobile application architectures from the ground up, including offline-first patterns, state caching, and resilient network synchronization.● Backend Integration Ecosystem: Solid hands-on experience integrating mobile frontends with diverse backend architectures: ○ FastAPI / Python APIs ○ Node.js microservices / BFF layers ○ ASP.NET Core / .NET enterprise backend services● Cloud & Database Awareness: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and Azure SQL persistence layers.● Mobile Security: Firm understanding of secure API communications, token lifecycle management (Keychain/Keystore), SSO implementations, and OWASP mobile security standards.● Release Engineering: Complete ownership of mobile release lifecycles, app store guidelines, automated testing, and CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, Fastlane).● Startup Agility & Collaboration: High agency, ability to manage technical debt pragmatically, and excellent communication skills for seamless distributed collaboration with our UK team.NICE TO HAVE: ● Direct experience writing custom React Native native bridges/modules in Swift, Objective-C, Java, or Kotlin.● Hands-on familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and cloud monitoring/telemetry.● Prior experience in high-compliance SaaS domains (HealthTech, MedTech, or EdTech).WHAT WE OFFER: ● Technical Ownership: Direct influence over platform architecture, technical tooling, and team standards with zero corporate red tape.● Meaningful Global Impact: Build mission-driven software that enhances training for healthcare professionals across the globe.● Distributed, International Team: True remote flexibility with regular exposure to UK engineering leadership and international stakeholders.● Competitive Compensation: Attractive package commensurate with senior engineering leadership capabilities.Orfiq AI Solutions Ltd is an equal opportunity employer
