Its diverse client base includes structural engineers, steel fabricators, offshore derrick suppliers, and design-build firms worldwide, offering exposure to varied projects and international standards.Role Description The Senior Modeler role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Senior Modeler will be responsible for developing detailed 3D models for steel structures, offshore derricks, and building systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and client standards. Daily activities include interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating with design and detailing teams, preparing and reviewing BIM models, and identifying clashes or design inconsistencies. The role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to clarify requirements, optimize constructability, and support material take-offs and fabrication drawings. The Senior Modeler will also mentor junior modelers, contribute to process improvements, and support quality checks and documentation for multiple concurrent projects.Qualifications Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and BIM tools (e.g., Tekla Structures, Revit, or equivalent), with the ability to create and manage complex structural models.Experience in steel detailing and connection modeling, with a solid understanding of structural steel standards, fabrication practices, and shop drawing requirements.Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, perform material take-offs, and support coordination among multidisciplinary design teams.Knowledge of offshore derrick or industrial structure modeling, or related heavy engineering projects, is highly beneficial.Relevant academic background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline; professional certifications in BIM or detailing are a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering accurate models under project timelines.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide junior team members and work in a structured, quality-focused environment.Prior experience in an engineering services or steel construction support firm, particularly with international clients or codes, is an advantage.
