SummaryThe Operations and Planning (O&P) Compliance role supports Client's adherence to NERC Operations and Planning Reliability Standards and Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, and Other Binding Documents.Collaborates with internal teams to identify and assess internal controls, evaluate compliance risks, and execute remediation activities to ensure compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission orders, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards, Regional Reliability Standards, Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, and corporate objectives.Works closely with Client personnel to identify documentation and controls associated with regulatory requirements and ensures policies and procedures are established to demonstrate compliance.Acts as a primary liaison between Client staff, regulatory agencies, and external auditors.Job DutiesLevel 2Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to independently identify compliance risks and develop effective solutions.Utilize compliance methods and tools to monitor, assess, and report compliance with regulatory requirements.Serve as a resource to advise process owners on improving compliance posture and operational processes.Work with assigned groups to develop, implement, and manage operational reports documenting and demonstrating compliance performance.Assist business process owners with remediation efforts resulting from audits, compliance investigations, and control assessments.Prepare Client staff and documentation for NERC, Texas RE, and other external audits.Maintain documentation of business processes and related internal controls.Participate in audits as required.Develop and maintain analytical documentation comparing current and revised NERC Operations and Planning Reliability Standards, Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, Other Binding Documents (OBDs), and Client policies.Align regulatory obligations with internal controls, business processes, and procedures.Prepare and maintain NERC Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs), narratives, evidence packages, and internal controls.Coordinate with subject matter experts regarding assigned standards.Utilize the Archer GRC platform to monitor, review, and assess the effectiveness of internal controls mapped to Reliability Standards and Client Protocol requirements.Support Client representation with NERC and Regional Standards Committees through participation in drafting teams and standards development efforts.Develop and monitor recommendations regarding NERC and Regional Reliability Standards impacting Client operations and systems.Participate in the development and revision of NERC Reliability Standards, Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, and OBD provisions.Support performance and Ancillary Services monitoring under Client Nodal Protocols Section 8 and Nodal Operating Guides Section 9, including reporting to the Reliability Monitor.Level SeniorCoordinate and communicate NERC Reliability Standards, Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, and OBD requirements with Client committees and Board of Directors as required.Develop and manage processes for collecting and submitting Client feedback related to NERC Standards postings.Evaluate and maintain traceability between Client Protocols, Operating Guides, OBDs, Reliability Standards, corporate objectives, and supporting documentation.Facilitate development of internal training regarding external audits, business processes, and internal controls.Assist with coordination of external audits while serving as a primary liaison between Client personnel and auditors.Update compliance tools and manage audit documentation repositories.Track audit and investigation efforts and progress.Communicate complex technical compliance information effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Document and track potential compliance issues, including self-logs and self-reports.Respond to regulatory Requests for Information (RFIs).Required ExperienceLevel 2: Requires 2 years of related work experience.Senior Level: Requires 5 years of related work experience.Experience with NERC Operations and Planning Reliability Standards preferred.Experience with Client Nodal Protocols, Operating Guides, and Other Binding Documents preferred.Experience with Bulk Electric System (BES) operations and planning preferred.Experience with NERC compliance monitoring activities preferred.Experience developing RSAWs and audit evidence packages preferred.Experience supporting Texas Reliability Entity and/or NERC audits preferred.Experience with SQL, Cognos, Python, or other data analysis platforms preferred.EducationBachelor's Degree in:Engineering.Computer Science.Business.Accounting.Auditing.Related Field.Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide comparable knowledge may be considered.Preferred
