Senior Software Engineer (.NET / React / AWS) - Outside IR35Outside IR35Initial contract until the end of 2026Remote basedAbout the RoleOur niche engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Digital Delivery Service, delivering software solutions across complex cloud-based applications within their Energy clients Commercial and Trading technology landscape.As Senior .NET Engineer you will work as part of a collaborative engineering service, taking ownership of features and integrations from design through to deployment, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our engineering capability.Senior .NET Software Engineer - Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain modern software applications using .NET (C#) Build and support REST APIs, backend services and system integrations.Develop Front-End features in ReactDevelop cloud-native solutions using AWS and associated technologies.Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to deployment and production support. Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, QA Engineers and Solution Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.Contribute to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practices.Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team.Support application improvements, defect resolution and technical debt reduction.Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience developing applications using C# / .NET.Experience building modern front-end applications using React.Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services.Experience working with AWS cloud services.Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server).Understanding of modern software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD and automated testing.Experience working within Agile delivery teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Desirable SkillsInfrastructure as Code (Terraform).Serverless development (AWS Lambda).Event-driven architecture and messaging.Experience within Energy Trading, Utilities or Financial Services.Experience working within a managed service environment.
