Senior Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our infrastructure and cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network security solutions, with a strong focus on Palo Alto Networks technologies. The role requires deep expertise in network security architecture, firewall management, cloud networking, and automation, ensuring secure and efficient operation of enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Security & Firewall ManagementDesign, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade network security solutions.Deploy, support, and optimize Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms across enterprise environments.Manage and administer Palo Alto Panorama and PAN-OS for centralized firewall management and policy enforcement.Implement and maintain firewall policies, NAT configurations, VPNs, security profiles, and threat prevention mechanisms.Perform firewall upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle administration.Monitor firewall performance and troubleshoot complex security and connectivity issues.Ensure high availability, resilience, and business continuity of security infrastructure.Network Infrastructure ManagementSupport and manage enterprise-level firewall infrastructure and associated security platforms.Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, and network connectivity issues.Analyze network traffic and security events to identify risks and vulnerabilities.Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure network operations.Maintain network availability and performance across on-premises and cloud environments.Cloud & Security EngineeringDesign and secure cloud networking solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Implement security best practices for cloud connectivity, segmentation, and access control.Integrate cloud and on-premises security architectures while maintaining compliance and governance standards.Automation & System AdministrationUtilize Python to automate network and security operations, monitoring, reporting, and configuration management tasks.Support and administer systems running on Linux Operating Systems.Develop scripts and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Security Governance & Best PracticesEnsure compliance with enterprise security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.Conduct security assessments, risk analysis, and vulnerability remediation activities.Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of network security incidents.Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, procedures, and operational runbooks.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.ExperienceProven experience as a Security Engineer with a successful track record of designing and deploying firewall solutions using Palo Alto Networks technologies.Proven experience with Palo Alto Panorama and PAN-OS administration and management.Proven experience supporting and managing enterprise-level firewall infrastructure and security platforms.Strong experience in enterprise network security environments.Technical SkillsProficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.Strong knowledge of firewall technologies and security architectures.Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.Strong programming and automation skills using Python.Experience with network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security monitoring.Knowledge of VPN technologies, NAT, IPS/IDS, threat prevention, network segmentation, and access control methodologies.Experience working with cloud networking and security services within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Certifications (Mandatory)Candidates must hold one or more of the following certifications:Networking CertificationsCCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and/orJNCIS (Juniper Networks Certified Specialist)Cloud CertificationGoogle Cloud Professional Network EngineerPalo Alto Certifications (Preferred to Strongly Preferred)PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator)PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer)Preferred AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.Commitment to security best practices and continuous learning in cybersecurity technologies.Key CompetenciesPalo Alto Firewall AdministrationPanorama ManagementPAN-OS ManagementNetwork Security EngineeringRouting & SwitchingCloud Networking (Google Cloud Platform)Linux AdministrationPython AutomationFirewall Design & DeploymentNetwork TroubleshootingSecurity Operations & Incident ResponseEnterprise Security Infrastructure Management
