Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Purpose: The role involves conducting independent sample reviews of the Bank's lending pipeline (pre-disbursement) and disbursed credit facilities to identify fraud risk indicators, control gaps and process breaches for Retail Banking & Commercial Banking. The role also covers monitoring of the Bank's fraud alert system, including sampling of closed alerts, quality review of alert disposition, and monitoring of alert volumes, outcomes and false-positive rates. This role requires timely reporting of sampling and monitoring findings, escalation of suspicious cases and control gaps, and support to the Fraud Prevention Unit's broader fraud risk management objectives.Principal Accountabilities: Sampling Reviews Conduct independent sampling reviews of the Bank's lending pipeline (pre-disbursement) applications to identify high-risk cases within the business portfolio. Review customer applications, KYC records, trade licenses, financial statements and supporting documents to identify fraudulent activity such as document forgery, identity theft, income inflation and similar other risks. Complete queued sampling reviews within the service level agreements to reduce potential revenue losses and minimize impact on customer experience. Interact with Business stakeholders and customers, where required, to validate information & match statements with the information mentioned in the credit application form. Resolve internal queries relating to sampling findings within the scope of existing service level agreements. Ensure confidentiality of all information collected during sampling reviews and fraud risk analysis. Identify control and process improvements within onboarding and disbursement workflows to prevent fraudulent activities. Recommend anti-fraud controls for changing lending patterns, product structures and emerging fraud trends observed during sampling. Recommend new tools for fraud prevention, detection and sampling reporting activities. Conducting monthly sampling reviews of the lending pipeline and disbursed cases to identify Fraud Risks (suspected set-up company, document forgery, income inflation etc.) and handling related referral cases. Fraud Forum Activity – Communicating with peer banks upon receiving alerts on customers/ companies & taking necessary actions in case of negative feedback received to mitigate potential loss to the bank, recording the same via a tracker. Evaluate the effectiveness of current sampling tools and templates, identify capability gaps, and recommend enhancements to improve fraud detection. Promote a strong culture of fraud awareness and provide guidance to stakeholders on fraud risk and prevention. Updating the blacklist database in the bank’s system/ application on a timely basis, where applicable, & disseminating the information to key stakeholders in a timely manner. Coordinate with the Fraud Investigation Unit as agreed SLA for proper documentation and reporting timelines to minimize customer experience impact. Support development of fraud prevention sampling procedures to comply with regulatory requirements. Assisting the Fraud Prevention Unit in conducting Fraud Risk Assessments for products and processes. Contributing to ensuring that fraud risk losses are within the overall Risk Appetite of the bank. Alert Sampling & Quality Review Monitoring Perform risk-based or random sampling of closed alerts. Check quality of analysis, evidence, disposition and closure rationale. Track repeated errors, overdue alerts and inconsistent decisioning. Escalate material control gaps and agree corrective actions with Business. Monitoring Monitor alert volumes, outcomes and false-positive rates by rule. Identify rules generating disproportionate false positives or operational noise. Support threshold, logic and scenario tuning with Business and the vendor. Confirm changes follow maker-checker, testing and change-control requirements.Job Requirement (Qualification/Experience):Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., CFE, ACAMS, ICA, CIA) will be an advantage.Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail. Good understanding of banking products and lending processes. Ability to identify fraud indicators within financial and customer documentation. Knowledge of KYC, AML and regulatory requirements applicable to banking products. Good understanding of protocols and procedures to be compliant with UAE regulations and requirements. Understanding of fraud alert monitoring systems, maker-checker controls, and change-control/ testing requirements. Strong report writing skills and proficiency in Excel/ MIS reporting; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The vacancy hiring will be on second party contract
