Role Summary

Responsible to prepare and implement operational excellence frameworks by designing standardized processes, streamlining cross-functional workflows, and enhancing performance measurement to improve efficiency, compliance, and service quality across DMCC’s operations.** The Senior Officer - Operational Excellence role is a contract opportunity at DMCC **Responsibilities:Maintain a structured pipeline of Operational Excellence opportunities arising from performance data, audits, customer feedback, regulatory developments, and stakeholder input.Conduct OpEx assessments like root-cause analysis, value-stream analysis, benchmarking, etc. as and when needed.Develop evidence-based improvement proposals covering expected benefits, costs, risks, controls, dependencies, and resource requirements.Lead the implementation of approved improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other appropriate methodologies.Conduct post-implementation reviews to confirm that improvements are effective and sustainable.Map end-to-end processes of internal processes, customer journeys, etc. across different work streams within the company.Identify bottlenecks, duplication, unnecessary approvals, control weaknesses, failure points, and opportunities for simplification.Design future-state processes with defined ownership, responsibilities, controls, service levels, handoffs, and KPIs.Research, draft, review, and update policies, procedures, standards, process maps, templates, and control documentations, where required.Coordinate document reviews and approvals with process owners, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, IT, and other relevant stakeholders.Maintain an accurate and controlled repository of operational policies, procedures, processes, and standards.Monitor implementation and escalate material deviations or recurring non-compliance.Maintain awareness of and comply with DMCC’s compliance manual, code of ethics, and applicable governance requirements.Develop and maintain standardized operational guidelines and frameworks by collaborating with key stakeholders, defining best practices, and ensuring process alignment to support DMCC’s role as a global Free Zone and commodities hub.Benchmark DMCC’s operational standards against UAE regulations and international best practices by conducting comparative analyses and regulatory reviews to maintain compliance and operational competitiveness.Document and update standard operating procedures by mapping workflows, defining process ownership, and setting performance benchmarks to promote consistency, efficiency, and accountability across all departments.Ensure alignment of DMCC’s operational practices with UAE regulatory requirements and DMCC Free Zone policies by regularly reviewing policies, updating procedures, and coordinating with compliance teams to promote legal adherence and governance integrity.Establish governance mechanisms and reporting structures by implementing monitoring tools, conducting compliance audits, and defining accountability frameworks to track adherence to operational standards and regulatory mandates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, quality management, or a related field from an accredited university. At least 5 -7 years’ experience in process improvement, operational excellence, quality assurance, or business transformation. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (Mandatory)Project Management (PMP Preferred)Business Analysis (CBAP Preferred)5 Years experience in Salesforce (Mandatory)In-depth Knowledge of Free Zone Processes, Project Management ToolsReporting Tools such as Qlik Sense, ClickUp, MS Projects etc (Mandatory)Familiarity with Local Authority regulations and personnel an advantage.
