This is an exciting time to join a growing organisation where Finance works closely with operational and commercial teams, with genuine opportunity to take ownership, improve processes and grow your career as the business scales.About your new Role Working as part of the Finance team and partnering closely with operational stakeholders, you will take ownership of financial accounting and settlement processes associated with the organisation's growing portfolio of renewable energy assets. This is a hands-on role combining financial accounting, complex reconciliations, operational data and process improvement. You will investigate the numbers rather than simply accepting them at face value, working across Finance and Operations to ensure financial outcomes accurately reflect underlying operational activity. Your responsibilities will include:Owning settlement, payment and reconciliation processes relating to renewable energy operationsReconciling financial transactions against underlying operational and trading data, investigating and resolving variancesPerforming month-end accounting including journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysisSupporting revenue recognition and accounting for operational and commercial arrangementsWorking across multi-entity, intercompany, fixed asset and/or capital project accounting depending on your experienceSupporting external audit through preparation of reconciliations, analysis and accounting documentationBuilding, documenting and improving accounting processes, policies and financial controlsIdentifying opportunities to automate processes and improve the efficiency and scalability of FinanceWorking closely with Finance, Operations and other stakeholders to understand the commercial activity behind the numbersAbout You You will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, ideally developed within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, combined with an interest in working closer to the operational side of a growing renewable energy business. You will ideally have:CA/CPA qualification with a strong grounding in financial accounting, ideally gained within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting environmentPrevious experience within renewable energy, energy markets or another asset-intensive sector such as infrastructure, utilities or property development will be highly regardedExperience within financial accounting, audit, financial control, revenue accounting or a similar roleStrong month-end, reconciliation and financial accounting capabilityAEMO/NEM settlements experience will be highly desirable but not essentialExposure to intercompany/multi-entity accounting, fixed assets, capital projects or technical accounting will be advantageousAdvanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex data from multiple sourcesStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both Finance and non-finance stakeholdersMost importantly, you will bring an agile and proactive mindset.
