Senior Operations Manager

Role OverviewWe are looking for a hands-on Senior Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day and 24/7 operations of our institutional digital asset trading platform.Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for ensuring that the trading and custody platform operates safely, reliably and efficiently around the clock. You will lead the operating model covering real-time platform monitoring, shift handovers, incident response, operational controls and cross-functional escalation.This is a senior operational leadership role with direct responsibility for production outcomes. You will be expected to stay close to the platform, make sound decisions during time-sensitive incidents, and drive issues through to resolution by coordinating Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance and external service providers.We are a Hong Kong-licensed financial technology platform serving institutional clients, including banks, licensed brokers and licensed fund managers. Our trading environment is designed to meet the operational and regulatory standards expected of licensed financial institutions.What You Will Own24/7 Trading OperationsTake overall operational ownership of the trading platform and ensure effective 24/7 operational coverage.Design and manage the shift, handover, on-call and escalation arrangements required to support continuous trading.Monitor platform status, order and trade flows, custody activities and other critical operational indicators.Identify unusual trading or operational conditions, assess their potential impact and initiate appropriate action.Ensure that trading activities are conducted in a fair, orderly, transparent and efficient environment in accordance with applicable rules and internal controls.Incident and Crisis ManagementAct as the senior operational lead during major trading, custody or production incidents.Make timely operational decisions, establish clear ownership and coordinate internal and external parties until service is restored.Develop and maintain incident response procedures, escalation matrices, emergency operating procedures and business continuity arrangements.Lead post-incident reviews, identify root causes and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are properly completed.Escalate material incidents to senior management, Risk and Compliance with clear facts, impact assessments and recommended actions.Operational Controls and Risk ManagementDevelop and continuously improve policies, procedures, operational controls and risk management frameworks for trading and custody operations.Maintain effective controls over order and trade processing, asset movements, reconciliations, access management and exception handling.Review operational data, breaks, incidents and control exceptions to identify emerging risks and recurring issues.Conduct regular reviews of operational processes and recommend practical improvements to senior management.Ensure that operational procedures remain aligned with regulatory requirements, trading rules and the company's risk appetite.Platform and Process ImprovementWork closely with Technology and Product teams to improve platform resilience, operational tooling, monitoring and automation.Translate operational requirements into clear workflows, system requirements and acceptance criteria.Support system releases, upgrades and integrations, including operational readiness assessments and production validation.Coordinate integrations between internal systems, custody infrastructure, liquidity providers and other external vendors.Reduce manual operational risk by improving workflow design, controls, documentation and automation.Team LeadershipLead, coach and develop the Operations team, setting clear standards for execution, ownership and escalation.Build a disciplined operating culture in which issues are identified early, communicated clearly and followed through to resolution.Ensure that team members are properly trained and able to respond consistently during both routine operations and critical incidents.Establish meaningful operational metrics and report platform performance, incidents, risks and improvement priorities to senior management.Remain hands-on when necessary, particularly during major incidents, complex investigations and important platform changes.What We Are Looking ForAt least 7 years of relevant experience in exchange operations, brokerage operations, electronic trading, market operations or another regulated financial-services environment.Meaningful experience supporting a 24/7 or other business-critical production environment.Strong understanding of the end-to-end order and trade lifecycle, including order handling, trade execution, settlement, reconciliation and exception management.Proven experience managing major operational or production incidents involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.Experience designing and implementing operational procedures, shift arrangements, escalation mechanisms, controls and emergency response processes.Working knowledge of operational risks associated with trading platforms and custody operations.Experience working closely with Technology teams on system incidents, releases, integrations and process automation.Sound judgement under pressure, with the ability to distinguish urgent symptoms from underlying risks and make clear operational decisions.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to give clear direction and maintain accountability during fast-moving situations.A hands-on and adaptable mindset suited to a growing, regulated financial technology business.Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant discipline.Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
