The role covers OCI infrastructure, cloud migration, cloud-native services, DevOps automation, and Oracle application workloads.You will work with architects, application teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions. You will also provide technical guidance to other engineers and support the ongoing improvement of OCI environments.Key ResponsibilitiesOCI InfrastructureDesign and implement OCI tenancy structures, including compartments, virtual cloud networks (VCNs), subnets, security lists, network security groups (NSGs), and dynamic routing gateways (DRGs).Provision and manage virtual machine, Bare Metal, and Flex compute instances; block, object, and file storage; and load balancers.Configure IAM policies, identity federation, dynamic groups, and instance principals using least-privilege principles.Implement connectivity and security services, including FastConnect, IPSec VPN, Web Application Firewall, and Cloud Guard.Cloud MigrationLead workload migrations from on-premises environments or other cloud platforms to OCI.Conduct discovery, assessment, and dependency mapping using Oracle Cloud Migrations, RackWare, or equivalent tools.Plan and execute rehost, re-platform, and refactor migration approaches based on workload requirements.Support database migrations using OCI Database Migration Service, Data Pump, GoldenGate, or Zero Downtime Migration.Cloud-Native Services and DevOpsBuild and manage containerized workloads using OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE).Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OCI DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with the OCI provider, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, or Pulumi.Implement monitoring and observability using OCI Monitoring, Logging, Logging Analytics, and Application Performance Monitoring.Oracle Workloads on OCIDeploy and manage Oracle Database services on OCI, including DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service, and Autonomous Database.Design OCI environments for Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, and Fusion Middleware workloads.Configure Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and Autonomous Data Guard to support high availability and disaster recovery.Monitor and optimize Oracle workloads using OCI Database Management, Operations Insights, and Performance Hub.Documentation and Technical LeadershipProduce high-level designs, architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.Translate application and business requirements into practical OCI designs.Provide technical leadership and mentor junior cloud engineers.Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.Must-Have Experience7–8 years of progressive cloud engineering experience, including at least 4 years focused on OCI.Hands-on experience with OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, Database, and Security services.Experience delivering migrations from on-premises environments or other clouds to OCI.Hands-on Terraform experience with the OCI provider.Experience with Kubernetes or OKE and CI/CD pipeline design.Working knowledge of Oracle Database technologies, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and GoldenGate.Linux administration and shell scripting experience.Experience with Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and automation.Strong understanding of DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, and network peering.Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate with stakeholders.Preferred ExperienceOCI Architect Associate, OCI Architect Professional, OCI DevOps Professional, or OCI Database Professional certification.AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification.Experience deploying Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, or Fusion Middleware on OCI.Familiarity with OCI Cost Analysis, Budgets, and FinOps practices.Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux, or policy-as-code tools such as OPA or Sentinel.Knowledge of Oracle Autonomous Database.ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management experience.Experience in managed services or consulting delivery.What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of OCI designs and implementations, lead migrations, and automate infrastructure delivery. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across infrastructure, networking, databases, and DevOps while communicating clearly with both technical teams and stakeholders.
