Core Responsibilities:Operational & Functional ExcellenceSupervise outpatient prescription workflow and case mix (walk-in, insurance, refills, and high-value medications) and adjust staffing assignments in real time to ensure compliance with established dispensing Turnaround Time (TAT) benchmarks.Drive achievement of assigned monthly prescription volume, revenue, productivity, and quality targets, while tracking daily performance and implementing corrective actions when required.Prepare and manage daily and weekly staff schedules ensuring appropriate skill mix coverage during peak hours and high-demand periods.Conduct structured shift handovers to communicate pending prescriptions, insurance issues, stock shortages, system downtime, and high-risk cases.Monitor outpatient pharmacy performance data including TAT, productivity, rejection rate, revenue contribution, and dispensing accuracy.Monitor generic utilization rates and formulary compliance to support cost optimization and financial sustainability.People & CollaborationMonitor individual pharmacist performance and KPIs, provide structured feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.Lead onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for newly hired pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.Coordinate continuous training and professional development sessions focusing on outpatient pharmacy workflow, insurance compliance, medication safety, and customer service standards.Serve as the operational point of contact with physicians, nursing staff, insurance teams, cashier, and IT departments to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.Facilitate effective communication between pharmacy staff and other hospital departments to resolve operational challenges.Customer, Patient & Stakeholder FocusEnsure accurate and safe dispensing practices to maintain high levels of patient safety and service quality.Monitor medication dispensing accuracy trends, near-miss reports, and patient complaints, implementing workflow improvements when required.Oversee insurance claim rejection trends and supervise correction processes in coordination with insurance and cashier teams.Ensure compliance with defined outpatient pharmacy service standards to maintain patient satisfaction and efficient service delivery.Compliance, Safety & Continuous ImprovementSupervise outpatient pharmacy inventory ensuring appropriate stock levels and enforcement of min/max inventory controls.Ensure proactive monitoring of near-expiry medications and enforcement of FIFO principles to minimize wastage.Oversee daily reconciliation and regulatory compliance for narcotics and controlled substances, including documentation and discrepancy investigation.Ensure compliance with approval processes and documentation for high-value medications.Maintain readiness for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and outpatient pharmacy regulatory standards.Monitor dispensing safety indicators and implement workflow improvements to enhance medication safety and reduce risk.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.5-7 years of outpatient or hospital pharmacy experience.Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or functional leadership experience
