About the CompanyWe are a fast-growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) business operating in the Australian and New Zealand home energy market.Our business is scaling rapidly, with approximately AU$15M+ invested annually in paid customer acquisition across our brands. As the home electrification and energy storage market continues to grow, we are building a high-performance acquisition function capable of scaling aggressively while maintaining strong commercial efficiency.This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who has operated paid media at significant scale and knows how to turn large advertising budgets into predictable, profitable growth.The RoleWe are looking for a hands-on paid media leader with deep expertise in both Meta Ads and Google Ads to take ownership of our paid acquisition function.You will be responsible for the strategy, performance, optimisation, testing, and scaling of a AU$15M+ annual paid media budget across Meta, Google, and emerging channels.This is not a maintenance role.We are looking for someone who can challenge existing strategies, identify opportunities others miss, rebuild account structures when necessary, improve acquisition economics, and make high-value decisions based on data.You should be equally comfortable:Rebuilding a Meta account structureRestructuring Google Ads campaignsDeveloping bidding and budget allocation strategiesDiagnosing CAC and ROAS performanceDesigning attribution and measurement frameworksBuilding testing roadmapsReviewing creative performancePresenting acquisition strategy and performance to the CMOIn short, we need a strategic leader who is still a true operator.Key Responsibilities1. Paid Media Strategy & OwnershipOwn the overall paid acquisition strategy across Meta Ads and Google Ads, with responsibility for additional channels as the business expands.Manage and optimise a AU$15M+ annual paid media budget.Determine budget allocation, channel mix, campaign structure, bidding strategy, audience architecture, and scaling priorities.Establish clear performance targets and ensure media investment supports overall commercial objectives.Identify opportunities to increase scale without compromising acquisition efficiency.2. Meta Ads & Google AdsYou must have deep, hands-on expertise in both platforms.Meta AdsOwn Meta account structure, campaign architecture, audience strategy, bidding, budget allocation, and scaling.Diagnose performance issues and identify opportunities across prospecting, retargeting, creative, audiences, and campaign structures.Develop and continuously improve Meta testing frameworks.Understand the relationship between creative performance, audience signals, attribution, and conversion outcomes.Google AdsOwn Google Ads strategy across relevant campaign types, including Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, and other applicable products.Develop account structures, bidding strategies, keyword and audience strategies, feed considerations, and budget allocation.Identify opportunities to improve conversion efficiency and scale profitable search and shopping acquisition.Evaluate Google performance alongside Meta and other channels rather than optimising each channel in isolation.3. Performance & Commercial OptimisationOwn key acquisition metrics including CAC, CPA, ROAS, conversion rate, lead quality, and customer value.Identify the underlying causes of performance changes rather than relying solely on platform-reported metrics.Make informed decisions on where to increase, reduce, or reallocate spend.Develop forecasting models that provide visibility into expected acquisition volume and cost.Continuously challenge assumptions and existing approaches to improve overall paid acquisition efficiency.4. Attribution & MeasurementOwn the paid media attribution and measurement framework.Define what performance data should be trusted, what should be triangulated, and how channel performance should be evaluated.Work with internal data, analytics, and marketing stakeholders to improve tracking and measurement.Identify attribution gaps and implement improvements where required.Use first-party and platform data to make better budget and optimisation decisions.5. Testing & ExperimentationBuild a structured testing framework across platforms, audiences, creative, offers, landing pages, bidding strategies, and campaign structures.Establish testing methodology, prioritisation, measurement, and documentation.Increase testing velocity while ensuring experiments produce actionable insights.Turn successful experiments into scalable acquisition strategies.Continuously test new approaches rather than relying on historical performance alone.6. Performance CreativePartner closely with Brand and Creative teams to improve paid-media creative performance.Translate platform and customer data into clear creative briefs and testing requirements.Identify creative patterns that drive stronger acquisition performance.Establish a performance creative feedback loop between media data, creative development, and campaign results.Raise the standard of creative produced for paid acquisition.7.
