Senior Perception & Targeting Engineer - Computer Vision / Edge AI

---- Only complete applications submitted by email will be considered! ---- We are looking for a Senior Perception & Targeting Engineer to build the visual intelligence that allows our aircraft to detect, track and understand airborne targets in real time.Your mission with usBuild the perception and targeting stack for autonomous high-speed aerial systems.Develop robust detection, tracking and classification of airborne targets using RGB and IR sensing.Generate reliable target bearings, angular rates, tracks, pose estimates and confidence values for downstream autonomy and guidance.Take perception models from research into real-time deployment on airborne edge hardware.Own the pipeline from raw sensor data, calibration and preprocessing through inference, tracking and target representation.Develop and evaluate deep neural networks alongside classical computer-vision approaches where appropriate.Optimize perception systems for latency, frame rate, robustness and compute efficiency rather than benchmark accuracy alone.Work with real flight data, synthetic data and rapidly growing field datasets.Build perception that remains reliable under vibration, high relative velocity, motion blur, changing backgrounds and difficult lighting.Work closely with state-estimation and autonomy engineers to turn sensor observations into actionable target information.Interface additional target cues from radar, RF or other sensors when available.Your contribution to the team (required)Strong hands-on experience developing computer-vision systems deployed onto real hardware.Strong experience with deep learning for detection, tracking, classification, segmentation or pose estimation.Experience taking perception models beyond offline datasets into continuously running real-time systems.Experience with PyTorch or comparable ML frameworks.Experience deploying models using TensorRT, ONNX or comparable inference stacks.Strong Python and solid C++ skills.Strong understanding of cameras, optics, calibration and real-time image-processing pipelines.Experience with edge AI hardware, ideally NVIDIA Jetson or comparable systems.Proven ability to work with imperfect real-world datasets and hardware constraints.Strong understanding of latency-sensitive perception.Ability to debug perception problems from raw sensor data through final model output.Interested?
