This role is responsible for designing and executing performance testing strategies, identifying system bottlenecks, and partnering with engineering teams to deliver high-performing, resilient systems.The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to ensure performance is built into every stage of the development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities Performance Testing & EngineeringDesign, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance testsCreate and maintain reusable performance test frameworks and scripts (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6)Define performance benchmarks, SLAs, and success criteria for critical systemsIntegrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelinesAnalysis & OptimizationAnalyze test results to identify bottlenecks across application, infrastructure, and network layersPerform root cause analysis using profiling and observability tools (APM, logs, traces)Recommend and validate performance improvements across code, database queries, APIs, and infrastructureCollaborate with developers to optimize code and architectureMonitoring & ObservabilityImplement and leverage observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus)Build dashboards and alerts to track real-time system performanceEstablish performance baselines and capacity modelsCollaborationPartner with Engineering, QA, Platform and Product teams to ensure performance requirements are metProvide guidance on performance best practices and design considerationsSupport production performance issues and incident response when neededContinuous ImprovementChampion a shift-left performance engineering mindsetImprove processes, tooling, and automation for performance testingStay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trendsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or related rolesHands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6)Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and web architecturesExperience analyzing system performance metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, latency, throughput)Familiarity with one or more programming/scripting languages ( , etc.)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (GitHub Actions preferred)Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Expertise in observability/APM tools (Datadog preferred)Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of database performance tuning (SQL/NoSQL)Experience building performance frameworks or internal toolingFamiliarity with chaos engineering or resilience testingKey SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to translate data into actionable insightsExcellent communication and cross-team collaborationAttention to detail with a systems-thinking mindsetProactive, ownership-driven approachSuccess MetricsImproved system response times and throughputReduced production performance incidentsEarly detection of bottlenecks during development cyclesIncreased test automation coverage and efficiencyAdoption of performance engineering best practices across teams
