Khatib & Alami (K&A) is looking for a talented and driven Senior Planning Engineer to join our Buildings Supervision team in Dubai. This is a key senior role where you will take full ownership of planning and scheduling across complex building projects — from initial baseline review through to final close-out.You will work at the heart of our project delivery team, collaborating closely with contractors, clients, and K&A's project managers to protect programme integrity and ensure our clients' interests are represented at every stage of construction.Roles & Responsibilities: Programme ManagementDevelop and maintain detailed Level 3 & 4 construction programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS ProjectEstablish and manage baseline schedules aligned with contractual milestones, design deliverables, and resource plansIntegrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities into a unified master programmeDefine and monitor critical path, near-critical paths, and schedule float across all project phasesProgress Monitoring & ControlConduct regular site visits and coordination meetings to capture accurate on-ground progressUpdate schedules weekly and monthly; identify variances, slippages, and drive recovery planningApply Earned Value Management (EVM) to track SPI and CPI performance metricsReportingProduce daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports for the project team and clientDevelop S-curves, histograms, manpower loading charts, and 3-week rolling look-ahead programmesPrepare Executive Summary dashboards for senior leadership and client steering committeesIssue Final Completion Reports and As-Built Programmes at close-outDelay Analysis & EOT ClaimsPerform Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Windows Analysis, and Retrospective Delay AnalysisPrepare schedule narratives supporting Extension of Time (EOT) claimsCoordinate with the commercial team to align schedule delays with cost impact assessmentsReview and respond to contractor delay notifications and EOT submissionsContractor CoordinationReview, assess, and approve contractor baseline programmes and recovery schedulesLead planning coordination meetings with main contractors and subcontractorsEnforce programme submission obligations per contract requirementsRisk ManagementManage planning interfaces between civil, architectural, MEP, and fit-out disciplinesMaintain the schedule risk register; conduct Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (Monte Carlo)Monitor procurement lead times and flag material delivery risks to the programmeTeam LeadershipMentor and supervise junior planning engineers and planning assistantsEstablish planning procedures, standards, and templates across the projectDeliver training and guidance on Primavera P6 and scheduling best practicesQualification:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management PMP (PMI), PRINCE2 Practitioner, or PSP – AACE certification.Primavera P6 Professional certification.Minimum 15 years of construction planning experience, of which 10 years must be UAE-based, and at least 5 years in a senior planning role within a building supervision consultancy or PMC environment.Proven delivery on complex, large-scale building projects — mixed-use, high-rise, hospitality, or government.Expert-level Primavera P6 skills; MS Project proficiency also required.Demonstrated experience in delay analysis and EOT claims documentation.
