Senior Platform EngineerFull-time | RiyadhWe are partnering with a growing technology organisation to appoint a Senior Platform Engineer to build the shared technology foundation used by engineering teams to develop, integrate and operate modern applications.This is a hands-on role spanning platform architecture, backend services, developer tooling, APIs, cloud infrastructure and AI-enabled systems. You will create reusable capabilities that allow engineering teams to move quickly without repeatedly solving the same integration, orchestration, security and operational problems.The role is suited to an engineer who has built internal platforms in production and understands that good platform engineering combines strong technical foundations with a simple developer experience. You will have significant ownership and help establish the patterns, interfaces and standards that other engineers build upon.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build shared platform services, APIs, SDKs and engineering tooling.Develop orchestration capabilities for applications involving multiple services, tools, models and workflows.Build reliable interfaces that allow teams to consume shared capabilities consistently.Integrate AI models and supporting services into reusable platform capabilities.Develop secure, identity-aware services with authentication and authorisation enforced at the appropriate layer.Create reusable templates, libraries, examples and automation to accelerate application development.Provide common capabilities for both interactive applications and programmatic consumers.Establish standards for API design, service contracts, versioning, testing and observability.Build tracing, monitoring and operational controls into platform services.Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to ensure services are scalable, reliable and secure.Identify recurring engineering problems and turn them into reusable platform solutions.Improve developer experience by reducing friction and increasing self-service across engineering teams.Review code, document technical decisions and help establish engineering standards across the platform.What We're Looking For8+ years of experience in software, backend, platform or infrastructure engineering.Proven experience building and operating internal platforms, shared services or developer tooling in production.Strong hands-on experience with AI-enabled applications, agent systems or comparable technologies.Strong Python and Go development skills. Experience with Java or Node.js is advantageous.Experience designing and building APIs and SDKs consumed by other engineering teams.Experience with workflow orchestration, tool integration, asynchronous processing or multi-step service interactions.Strong understanding of distributed systems and service architecture.Experience with authentication, authorisation, OIDC/SSO and identity-aware services.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD practices.Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Crossplane.Strong understanding of reliability, security, scalability and operational trade-offs.A strong focus on developer experience, usability and adoption.AI & Application PlatformsExperience building production AI or agent-based systems is highly desirable.Relevant experience may include:Agent orchestration and workflow systems.Tool calling and integration between AI services and business applications.Model gateways and provider integrations.Retrieval and data-access capabilities.Evaluation, tracing and guardrails for AI-enabled applications.Standardised interfaces for connecting applications, services and tools.Technologies such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google ADK or comparable frameworks.Technical EnvironmentPython | Go | Java/Node.js | APIs | SDKs | AI/Agent Systems | Workflow Orchestration | Docker | Kubernetes | CI/CD | AWS | Terraform/Crossplane | OIDC/SSO | Authentication | Authorisation | Observability | Developer ToolingWe're looking for an engineer with strong technical depth and platform thinking who can turn complex engineering requirements into simple, reusable capabilities.
