Role PurposeAXIAN Telecom is a leading pan-African telecommunications group serving more than 40 million customers across Africa through its Yas mobile brands, Mixx by Yas fintech services, and digital infrastructure portfolio. The Group is accelerating its digital transformation through major commercial, product and technology initiatives across its operating companies.The Senior Portfolio & Delivery Manager drives the execution of AXIAN Telecom's Group Commercial strategy across multiple operating companies, ensuring strategic initiatives are properly defined, prioritised and successfully delivered to achieve measurable business outcomes.The role operates at the intersection of Strategy, Business and Product / Technology, translating ambition into structured, high-impact transformation programs and enabling the Group to deliver predictably across markets.Key Responsibilities1.Strategy Execution & Business TransformationDrive execution of the Group Commercial strategy through high-impact transformation initiativesChallenge initiative scope, prioritisation and expected business valueSupport Business Lines in identifying initiatives that maximise commercial performanceEnsure initiatives remain aligned with Group strategic objectives2.Digital & Product TransformationPartner with Product Managers to execute the Group product roadmapSupport digital transformation initiatives across mobile apps, digital channels, CRM and commercial platformsBridge Business, Product and Technology teamsSupport business case preparation and value realisation3.Portfolio & Program DeliveryManage a portfolio of strategic commercial initiativesLead cross-functional transformation programs from initiation to deploymentCoordinate Business, Product, Technology and vendorsManage risks, dependencies, milestones and executive reporting4.Delivery ExcellenceImprove delivery methodologies and portfolio governancePrepare Steering Committee materials and executive dashboardsPromote execution excellence and continuous improvementExperience & QualificationRequiredMinimum 12 years of professional experienceStrong experience in Program, Portfolio or Transformation ManagementExperience in Marketing, Product Management, Digital, Customer Experience or other commercial functionsStrong exposure to digital products, software delivery and IT-enabled business transformationExperience leading multi-country transformation programsStrong commercial acumen and excellent understanding of Product Management principlesProgram & Portfolio Management expertise, with critical thinking and a strategic mindsetStakeholder management and executive communication skillsUnderstanding of Agile delivery and the software development lifecycleAbility to bridge Business, Product and Technology, with a results-oriented execution mindsetBachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Information SystemsEnglish: Mandatory (full professional proficiency)PreferredTelecommunications experience highly preferredPMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner certificationAgile/Scrum certificationMBAFrench language capabilityWhat Success Looks LikeThe successful Senior Portfolio & Delivery Manager will:Accelerate execution of the Group Commercial strategyDeliver measurable business outcomesImprove portfolio prioritisation and delivery predictabilityStrengthen collaboration between Business, Product and TechnologySupport successful multi-country transformation programsOperating PrinciplesThe Senior Portfolio & Delivery Manager is expected to operate with:Strong ownership mentalityStrategic and commercial mindsetStructured executive communicationCollaborative problem solvingData-driven decision makingDelivery discipline and rigourTransparency and accountabilityContinuous improvement mindset
