Senior Portfolio Manager

Job Description:Role PurposeThe IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for governing and monitoring the organization's IT and digital transformation portfolio, ensuring that approved initiatives deliver the expected business outcomes, strategic value, and financial benefits. The role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, project teams, and executive leadership to drive portfolio performance, benefits realization, and investment optimization. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the portfolio of IT, digital, and transformation initiatives.Establish and maintain portfolio governance, prioritization, reporting, and decision-making processes.Define and monitor benefits realization frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics for all major initiatives.Track planned versus actual business benefits, including financial, operational, customer, and strategic outcomes.Partner with business sponsors to validate benefit ownership, accountability, and realization timelines.Provide portfolio dashboards, executive reports, and performance insights to leadership and governance committees.Identify portfolio risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and corrective actions.Ensure alignment of IT investments with organizational strategy, business objectives, and transformation roadmaps.Support business case development, benefits forecasting, and post-implementation value assessments.Drive continuous improvement in portfolio management, project governance, and value measurement practices.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of experience in IT Portfolio Management, PMO, Digital Transformation, or Program Management.Strong experience in benefits realization, business case management, and portfolio governance.Knowledge of portfolio management methodologies such as PPM, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile frameworks.Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, financial, and executive communication skills.Key Success MeasuresPercentage of portfolio benefits realized versus approved business cases.Portfolio alignment to strategic objectives.On-time delivery of portfolio reporting and governance activities.Improvement in ROI and value realization from IT investments.Stakeholder satisfaction and executive confidence in portfolio performance.
