Senior Power BI Developer - Remote - Octopus by RTG

The role focuses primarily on Power BI development and platform administration, alongside a strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT processes. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver maintainable reporting solutions and support the evolution of the company's data architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX and Power Query (M)Build and optimize data models to ensure reporting accuracy and performanceAdminister the Power BI environment, including datasets, workspaces, gateways, and service accountsManage Power BI access, licensing, refresh failures, and platform-related issuesImplement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance controls to meet security and audit requirementsDocument dashboard logic, data sources, business definitions, and reporting processesGather and clarify reporting requirements with business stakeholders and translate them into maintainable BI solutionsWork with SQL and relational databases to support reporting and data analysisApply data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling principles, including star and snowflake schemasUnderstand ETL/ELT processes and how data pipelines feed BI reporting layersSupport the evolution of Power BI architecture as new data sources and semantic models are introduced through the Data Warehouse initiativeRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experienceStrong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelingStrong SQL and Advanced SQL skills, with experience working with relational databasesSolid understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemasWorking knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and their integration with BI reportingPractical experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance practicesExperience with Power BI platform administration, including workspaces, datasets, gateways, and refresh managementStrong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skillsFluency in both Arabic and English, spoken and writtenPreferred QualificationsMicrosoft Power BI Data Analyst certification (PL-300) or equivalentExposure to Microsoft Azure or Microsoft FabricExperience working in a BI environment undergoing a Data Warehouse implementation or platform migration
