They can independently deliver high-quality seismic images for Sterling Seismic Clients for exploration development decisions. This position is focused on Land Processing, not offshore processing.Must-have qualificationsBachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field.Strong, hands-on FWI experience — not just academic knowledge.Experience using FWI in real production projects, in either 2D or 3D.Strong experience with velocity model building and depth imaging.Experience with seismic imaging techniques such as:KPSDM (Kirchhoff Pre-Stack Depth Migration)RTM (Reverse Time Migration)Strong ability to QC/check seismic data and velocity models and determine whether the results make geological sense.Ability to work independently at a senior level.Nice-to-have qualificationsExperience with onshore FWI.Experience with multi-parameter FWI.Experience with common industry seismic imaging software/platforms.In simple terms, you'd:Take seismic data and use FWI to build an accurate model of the subsurface.Use that model to create high-resolution images of what's underground by using Depth Migration.Check the data and results carefully to make sure they're technically and geologically correct.Work with geologists, engineers, and other geophysicists to make sure the imaging answers the client's needs.Improve the team's imaging workflows and technical processes.
