Senior Procurement Specialist / Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLEWatania Steel is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist / Supervisor to lead sourcing and purchasing of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies. The successful candidate will bring strong steel-industry procurement expertise, deep knowledge of the local supplier market, and proven negotiation and vendor management skills.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead end-to-end procurement of MRO supplies, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.Develop and maintain a strong vendor base; identify and qualify new suppliers for MRO categories.Conduct competitive sourcing, cost/price analysis, and commercial negotiations with suppliers.Manage contracts and service agreements with MRO vendors, ensuring compliance with commercial terms.Execute Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) accurately and efficiently.Monitor market prices and sourcing trends to support cost-saving initiatives.Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and warehouse teams to align procurement with plant needs.REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSExperience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in the steel industry.Education: Preferably a degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.Nationality: Saudi nationals are preferred; qualified and experienced expatriates are also acceptable. Candidates currently residing in KSA with solid knowledge of the Saudi market are preferred.Purchase Categories: Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies.Industry Experience: Hands-on procurement experience within steel manufacturing or a similar heavy industrial environment.Market Knowledge: Strong knowledge of relevant suppliers, market prices, sourcing strategies, and commercial negotiations.Key Skills: Competitive sourcing, vendor development, cost negotiation, contract management, and effective PR/PO execution.
