A strategist without proven execution experience is not the right fit, and neither is someone who only executes an existing design direction.The ideal candidate has experience in an innovative environment such as a corporate startup, scale-up or innovation unit within a larger organisation. You bring a startup mindset while also understanding how to work effectively within the structures and complexity of a large organisation.The assignment :The energy transition is changing how households consume, generate and manage energy. Electric vehicles, solar panels, home batteries and heat pumps are increasingly becoming part of one connected energy ecosystem.Your role will be to turn this complexity into simple, intuitive customer experiences, while also helping shape the product and design strategy behind them.You will work across the full design process, from discovery and research through to concept development, prototyping, validation and implementation.Key responsibilities :Design simple and intuitive experiences for complex Home Energy Management solutionsTranslate customer needs, technology, data and business requirements into strong product experiencesProactively identify opportunities rather than waiting for a fully defined design briefInitiate and conduct customer research, interviews, usability testing, data analysis and experimentsDevelop product and design strategies alongside hands-on design executionCreate customer journeys, concepts, prototypes and high-fidelity designsWork hands-on in Figma and other modern design toolsChallenge existing assumptions and identify opportunities for improvementBuild compelling design narratives and present recommendations to senior stakeholdersFacilitate workshops and bring different stakeholders together around a shared directionCollaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Data Specialists and other DesignersHelp connect individual features into a coherent and integrated customer experienceQualificationsWe are looking for an experienced Product Designer, UX Designer or similar professional who can demonstrate both strategic and executional capability.You should be able to demonstrate that you:Have designed complex technical or digital products and translated them into simple user experiencesCan independently initiate and execute discovery and user researchHave strong UX and interaction design skills combined with strong visual design capabilityCan connect customer insights, data, technology and business requirementsCan move comfortably between detailed UX work and broader product or service strategyCan develop and communicate a clear product or design visionAre confident challenging existing assumptions while maintaining strong stakeholder relationshipsCan structure and present complex ideas clearly and convincinglyHave strong experience with Figma, prototyping and modern design toolsHave experience with accessible design and WCAG 2.2Nice to have :Experience in one or more of the following would be highly valuable :Energy or utilitiesSustainabilityElectric mobility / EVConnected productsData-driven product developmentService DesignComplex digital ecosystemsSmart home or energy managementAdditional InformationYou are curious, independent and comfortable working on problems where the answer is not yet clear.You don't need a perfectly defined brief before getting started.
