About the RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to join a fast-moving consumer product business and play a key role in bringing new products from concept to reality.This is more than a role focused on creating beautiful renders. You’ll be involved throughout the product journey, from exploring ideas and developing concepts, to prototyping, refining CMF, working with manufacturers and ultimately seeing your designs come to life in production.Beyond owning exciting product development projects, this role offers a clear opportunity to step into leadership - from mentoring junior designers and shaping design direction to developing your people management skills and eventually leading a design team. Location: Bangsar, Kuala LumpurWork Mode: Fully on-siteBudget: RM 5,000 - 8,000What You’ll DoOwn the end-to-end product design process, from concept development and ideation through prototyping, refinement and mass production.Turn market trends, consumer insights and business needs into fresh, functional and commercially viable product concepts.Develop product forms, details, materials and finishes while balancing design, functionality, cost and manufacturability.Drive CMF (Colour, Material & Finish) development and work closely with suppliers to bring the desired look and feel to life.Work directly with manufacturers and suppliers, particularly on CMF, tooling, sampling and production requirements.Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFX) principles to ensure concepts can be produced efficiently and at scale.Create prototypes, evaluate samples and make hands-on design refinements throughout the development process.Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, marketing and creative teams to bring products from idea to market.Take ownership from first concept → prototype → production → first batch, ensuring design intent and quality are maintained throughout.Manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Share your expertise and provide guidance to junior designers when needed.What You'd Ideally Have3+ years of experience in Industrial Design, Product Design or a closely related field.A strong portfolio demonstrating physical product design, ideally including products that have progressed from concept into production.Strong CMF experience — you understand how colour, materials and finishes translate from concept to a physical product.Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.Proficiency in CAD / 3D modelling and rendering.Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, tooling and production considerations.Experience working directly with manufacturers and suppliers.Fluent in Mandarin/Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking suppliers and manufacturing partners.Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance creative ambition with commercial and manufacturing realities.It Would Be Great If You Also HaveExperience designing consumer, lifestyle, furniture or other physical products.Experience working with products manufactured at scale.A strong eye for aesthetics, proportions, materials and product detailing.Experience taking ownership of multiple product development projects simultaneously.A genuine interest in consumer products, design trends and emerging product experiences.How to Apply?If this role interests you, please apply via the link to this job ad with your updated CV.
