Do you geek out over tricky design problems? Is empathy your superpower? Are you always noticing things in the real world and thinking about how you’d make them better? Do you get really excited to see your designs go live and make an impact? If that’s you, we have the perfect job for you!Seek Sophie is an unusual company. We’re a small team of people who really love what we do, and we believe we can change the world at the same time. Seek Sophie is a platform that connects travellers to incredible community businesses, conservationists and artisans across Asia. By doing so, our travels can help protect wildlife, rainforests and disappearing heritage.Design and storytelling are at the heart of our work. Impact, craftsmanship and excellence are our core values. If these are your values too, we are super excited to meet you :)Why the role is funOur product is fun to work on because there are no layers of bureaucracy standing between a design and the end user. If you have an idea that could improve conversion, it can go live quickly, and you can see its impact on our guests and community hosts. Your work will make a huge difference. Our product is complex, so the design problems are really interesting. How do you make something complicated feel incredibly simple? How do you design for a small mom-and-pop host in Thailand who runs most of their business on WhatsApp, and also for a traveller in London who expects a seamless booking experience? How do you make it as easy to find and book a life-changing experience as it is to book a cab?The role combines cheeky brand work, technical product work and work that actually makes a difference. We get excited about shipping a feature and seeing what happens. Did conversion improve? Did users understand the flow better? Did more people discover our local hosts? We geek out on this stuff.Who we’re looking forWe want someone with strong user empathy and excellent attention to detail. You can quickly spot where someone might get stuck in a flow, understand why, and find a better solution. You also understand how products work. You don’t just design a pretty screen and hand it to engineering. You think about conditions, variations, edge cases and how a design will be properly implemented. You’ll need strong design taste, a practical understanding of technical systems and a love of solving complex problems. You’ll also be excited to ship features, learn from data and user feedback, and make complicated flows feel simple. This isn’t for everyoneWe want someone who wants their work to actually matter. Seek Sophie is full of people who are excited to make a difference, not just talk about it. We want someone who gets the brand, is energised by what we’re trying to do and enjoys solving complex problems. There’s no bureaucracy and very little hierarchy at Seek Sophie. Just people who are very good at what they do and want to do the best work they can. You’ll need to be happy working independently and taking initiative rather than waiting for instructions. If a messy problem makes you curious, that's great. If it makes you freeze until someone gives you a step-by-step brief, this probably isn’t the right role for you. We want someone who is excited by a challenge, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to keep digging until they find a better answer.Requirements5–8 years of experience in product, UX/UI design.Based in Singapore (must)A strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design work.Strong user empathy and attention to detail.Excellent visual, interaction and UI design skills.Ability to simplify complex problems and create intuitive user experiences.Experience with user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.Experience working closely with engineers and product teams.A practical understanding of technical constraints, edge cases and implementation.Comfort using data, research and user feedback to inform design decisions.Experience with design systems and responsive design.Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage priorities.Genuine interest in Seek Sophie’s mission, brand and the communities we work with. How to applyEmail Join@seeksophie.com with:A cover letter letting us know why you're excited to work with us (along with expected salary and whether you need a word permit).
