This is a genuine ownership role for someone who wants to take one product from concept to a live release, not sit at arm's length managing a roadmap.Discover the companyYou will be joining a well established business partway through a serious digital transformation, standing up new products across several of its lines. Rather than experimenting at the edges, they are investing properly in a growing digital function of product owners, analysts and delivery managers. It is a real build phase, with proper backing and a clear appetite to do things well 🌍.Discover the roleThe focus here is one specific product, owned end to end. You will handle the technical detail and the delivery, turning business needs into something engineering teams can build against. This sits apart from the delivery managers who track progress across every project, because your remit is depth on a single product rather than breadth across many. As the current work matures, the role is expected to grow into wider strategic product work, so there is a clear path forward.Discover the responsibilitiesOwn one product from first idea through to launch, taking full responsibility for its deliveryTurn business needs into clear user stories, specifications and prioritised backlog itemsGather requirements from stakeholders and spot chances to improve the productRun the product in an Agile way, leading sprint planning, stand ups, reviews and retrospectivesAct as the main point of contact between engineering, internal teams and stakeholdersWork with engineering on test plans so releases are solid before they shipTrack the right metrics and feed what you learn back into the productOversee product support so user issues are resolved quickly and properlyDiscover the requirementsAt least 8 years in a product owner or similar role, ideally within Agile teams. This is a firm floor, not a nice to haveReal exposure to the insurance world, whether from inside an insurer or through consultancy work with financial services clientsStrong communication skills, because you will be moving across a busy organisation and working with many people. This one matters a great dealComfort with AI and where it is heading. Hands on experience is welcome, but a solid theoretical grasp is enoughConfidence with the usual product tools and ways of working, such as Agile, Scrum, JIRA and ConfluenceA technical background is welcome, as long as those tools are familiar to youA degree in computer science, engineering or a related field is usefulIf you want to own a product properly, from the first idea through to something live and being used, and grow it into strategic work over time, this is a strong move 🎯.
