Senior Project Accountant

Join a well-funded greenfield mining project at a critical stage of developmentWork directly with the CEO, CFO, Project Director and senior commercial stakeholdersTake ownership of project controls, capital reporting, cash flow and cost performanceAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join a growing mining business based in central Brisbane, as it moves into a major phase of project development.With funding secured to progress the development of a greenfield mine, the business is now building out its project capability ahead of construction and delivery. This role will play an important part in ensuring capital is effectively controlled, accurately reported and aligned with project budgets.Working closely with the CEO, CFO, Project Director, project teams, procurement and commercial stakeholders, you will provide financial leadership and commercial insight across the project while helping establish the finance processes required to support the business through its next stage of growth.The RoleOwn project financial reporting, including month-end project costs, accruals, prepayments, retentions, balance sheet reporting and cost-to-complete analysisProvide detailed budget, variance, cash flow and project performance analysis, highlighting key risks, opportunities and emerging cost pressuresEstablish and maintain project accounting structures, including alignment of the project WBS to the general ledger and accurate job-cost allocationPartner with project, procurement and commercial teams across supplier invoices, progress claims, contract costs, invoicing and project cash flow requirementsPrepare clear and timely reporting for senior management, directors and shareholders while supporting audit, external advisors and broader finance requirementsAbout YouCA or CPA qualified with strong project accounting, management accounting or commercial finance experienceDemonstrated experience supporting major capital projects within mining, construction, infrastructure or another project-led environmentStrong understanding of project costs, budgets, forecasting, cash flow, cost-to-complete and project controlsCommercially minded and comfortable partnering with Project Directors, Project Managers, procurement and contract/commercial teamsStrong Excel and systems capability, with experience across Pronto or similar ERP/accounting platforms highly regardedThe OpportunityThis is a rare opportunity to join a mining business at a pivotal stage of development and play a meaningful role in the delivery of a major greenfield project.You will have broad visibility across the project, work closely with senior decision-makers and help establish the financial controls, reporting disciplines and commercial processes required to support effective capital management and successful project delivery.As the project progresses from development through construction and ultimately into production, there is also the potential for the role to broaden and evolve alongside the operation, providing longer-term exposure across a producing mining business.How to applyPlease submit your resume through LinkedIn or you can send me a direct email.
