SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – MECHANICAL | LNG / OIL & GAS EPC CONSTRUCTIONPosition OverviewSenior Project Manager – Mechanical will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and end-to-end management of major mechanical and piping project scopes within large-scale LNG, Oil & Gas, Gas Processing, Petrochemical, Refinery, and EPC projects.The position will be responsible for the complete project execution lifecycle, covering engineering coordination, procurement, expediting, inspection, logistics, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning interfaces, system completion, handover, and close-out. The role will ensure delivery in accordance with contractual requirements, approved budget, baseline schedule, quality standards, HSE requirements, and client expectations.The Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary project teams and maintain strong coordination with the Client, PMC, EPC partners, engineering consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and internal corporate functions, while driving project performance, productivity, cost optimization, schedule recovery, risk mitigation, stakeholder satisfaction, and successful achievement of critical project milestones.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and strategic direction for mechanical and piping project execution, ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual obligations, approved execution strategies, and company business targets.Manage the complete project lifecycle from mobilization, engineering coordination, procurement, material expediting, inspection, logistics, and construction through pre-commissioning, commissioning interfaces, system completion, handover, and final close-out.Develop and implement project execution strategies, construction methodologies, execution plans, resource plans, manpower requirements, project schedules, productivity targets, project KPIs, and performance management systems.Lead multidisciplinary teams covering Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, E&I, Planning, Project Controls, QA/QC, HSE, Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, and Commissioning functions.Oversee construction and installation of major mechanical systems, including static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, utilities, process systems, and associated plant facilities.Ensure all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, project procedures, applicable international codes and standards, and client requirements.Establish effective systems for monitoring construction productivity, manpower efficiency, equipment utilization, material consumption, work-front availability, and resource performance.Review project progress against approved baseline schedules and contractual milestones, identify critical path constraints and schedule risks, and implement effective recovery, mitigation, acceleration, and catch-up strategies.Work closely with Planning and Project Controls teams to review Primavera P6 schedules, progress measurement, manpower histograms, productivity reports, look-ahead schedules, critical path activities, forecasts, earned progress, and recovery programmes.Ensure adequate manpower, equipment, materials, drawings, permits, access, temporary facilities, work fronts, and other resources are available to maintain continuous construction progress.Maintain close coordination with HSE leadership to ensure full compliance with project HSE plans, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, statutory requirements, and client HSE standards.Promote a strong zero-incident safety culture, ensuring HSE performance remains a key project delivery KPI and that all project personnel and subcontractors maintain safe working practices.Monitor project cost performance in coordination with Commercial and Project Controls teams, covering manpower, subcontractor costs, equipment, materials, productivity, indirect costs, and other project expenditures.Support commercial and contractual management of variations, claims, EOT submissions, change orders, subcontractor claims, back charges, commercial correspondence, and contractual notices.Identify commercial risks and opportunities and ensure project changes are properly evaluated, documented, approved, costed, and incorporated into project execution.Drive value engineering, cost optimization, productivity improvement, construction efficiency, resource optimization, and waste reduction without compromising safety, quality, or schedule.Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Client, PMC, consultants, EPC partners, subcontractors, vendors, third-party inspection agencies, and senior management.Lead senior-level project meetings, progress reviews, coordination meetings, technical discussions, commercial reviews, client meetings, and management presentations.Provide accurate and timely executive-level reporting covering project progress, critical milestones, productivity, manpower, procurement, cost, risks, opportunities, contractual matters, forecasts, and recovery actions.Review and approve major project execution strategies, construction methodologies, resource requirements, recovery plans, work-front priorities, and critical project decisions within delegated authority.Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of project documentation, turnover dossiers, as-built drawings, inspection records, test packs, quality records, completion certificates, system dossiers, and handover documentation.Lead mechanical completion, system handover, commissioning interfaces, final testing, demobilization, final documentation, project close-out, and lessons-learned activities.Ensure project lessons learned are captured and implemented to improve future project execution, productivity, safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.Act as a senior leadership representative of the company, protecting the company's commercial, contractual, technical, operational, and reputational interests while maintaining professional client and stakeholder relationships.Project Leadership & Performance AccountabilitiesThe Senior Project Manager will be accountable for achieving the following key project outcomes:Safety: Zero harm, strong safety leadership, and full compliance with project, statutory, and client HSE requirements.Schedule: Achievement of contractual milestones through effective critical-path management, resource planning, and schedule recovery.Cost: Delivery within approved budgets through effective cost control, productivity improvement, subcontract management, and resource optimization.Quality: Right-first-time execution, effective inspection and testing, and timely closure of NCRs, punch items, and quality observations.Productivity: Continuous improvement in manpower efficiency, equipment utilization, work-front availability, construction output, and resource performance.Procurement Readiness: Timely availability of critical equipment, materials, drawings, consumables, and resources required for uninterrupted execution.Construction Completion: Timely achievement of mechanical completion, system completion, turnover, and handover milestones.Stakeholder Management: Effective management of Client, PMC, EPC partners, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.Commercial Protection: Effective management of variations, claims, EOT, change control, subcontractor matters, and contractual risks.Project Close-Out: Complete and timely handover of systems, technical dossiers, as-built records, quality documentation, completion certificates, and final project deliverables.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; master’s degree or relevant professional certification will be an advantage.Minimum 18–20+ years of overall experience in mechanical construction and project management, with substantial experience in LNG, Oil & Gas, Gas Processing, Petrochemical, Refinery, or major EPC projects.Proven experience in senior project leadership positions such as Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Construction Manager, or equivalent.Strong experience in large-scale mechanical and piping construction, equipment installation, plant construction, system completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project handover.Extensive knowledge of installation and construction of static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, utilities, and process facilities.Strong understanding of EPC project execution, construction methodologies, project controls, planning, cost management, procurement, expediting, logistics, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning, and contract administration.Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, large manpower resources, subcontractors, vendors, multiple work fronts, and complex project interfaces.Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, project scheduling, manpower planning, productivity monitoring, resource forecasting, progress measurement, critical-path analysis, recovery planning, and project reporting.Experience coordinating engineering deliverables, procurement, material expediting, vendor inspections, logistics, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, system completion, and final handover.Strong commercial awareness with practical experience in variations, claims, EOT, change management, subcontract management, cost control, and contractual risk management.Experience working with major EPC contractors, PMC organizations, international clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.GCC / Middle East LNG, Oil & Gas, Gas Processing, or major EPC project experience is highly desirable.
