Full job descriptionWe are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Senior Project Manager specializing in Steel Fabrication to lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for construction management, a deep understanding of steel fabrication processes, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively. Join us if you’re ready to make a tangible impact on large-scale steel construction projects and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead structural and miscellaneous steel projects from contract award through final completionManage large, complex, or high-value projects with significant fabrication and field scopeReview contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure full understanding of project requirementsDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with fabrication, purchasing, and field teamsServe as primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractorsMonitor project budgets, job costs, labor hours, and material usage to ensure profitability targets are metIdentify risks, cost impacts, or schedule conflicts early and implement solutionsCoordinate with Estimating to ensure smooth transition from bid to project executionWork closely with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of steel, materials, and subcontracted servicesOversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationCoordinate detailing, shop drawings, and approvals to maintain production schedulesWork with Shop, Production, and Field teams to align fabrication and erection timelinesReview subcontractor and vendor proposals, contracts, and invoices for accuracyConduct project meetings with internal teams and customers as requiredPerform job site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain customer relationshipsAssist in forecasting workload, manpower needs, and material requirementsMentor and support junior Project Managers or Project Engineers as applicableHelp develop and improve project management procedures, reporting, and controlsSupport leadership with operational planning and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure all projects comply with company safety, quality, and operational standardsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required10+ years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, construction, or industrial contractingStrong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, and construction project workflowsExperience managing large, multi-phase, or high-value projectsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specificationsProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong financial and cost management skillsExperience working with general contractors, fabricators, and subcontractorsExcellent communication and client-facing skillsStrong leadership ability and experience mentoring junior staff preferredProficiency with project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel required)Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skillsJoin our team as a Senior Project Manager (Steel Fabrication) if you’re eager to lead innovative projects that shape the future of infrastructure development!
