Canberra * Urban / infrastructure Development, Roads and StormwaterPerfect environment and perfect resting place for your careerGreat salary: $185-166k depending on experience.This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for delivering a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects throughout Canberra and the surrounding region.Joining a highly regarded engineering and project management consultancy, you will work across urban development, roads, highways, stormwater drainage and associated infrastructure projects for government and private-sector clients.The role requires someone who understands how civil projects are delivered from the early planning and design stages through procurement, construction and final completion. You will be the central point of contact between the client, engineering team, consultants, contractors, councils and other authorities.Your responsibilities will include:Managing civil infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completionDelivering urban development, roads, highways and stormwater projectsEstablishing project programs, budgets, scopes and delivery strategiesCoordinating design consultants, contractors and specialist subconsultantsManaging council, authority and stakeholder approvalsPreparing procurement documentation and assisting with tender processesAdministering contracts and monitoring contractor performanceChairing client, consultant, contractor and site meetingsMonitoring project progress, costs, risks, quality and complianceUndertaking site inspections and resolving construction-related issuesPreparing project reports, risk registers and progress updatesIdentifying potential delays or commercial issues before they affect deliveryMaintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients and stakeholdersSupporting fee proposals and identifying opportunities for further workYou will ideally offer:Strong project management experience across civil infrastructureExperience delivering urban development, roads, highways, drainage or related projectsA relevant qualification in civil engineering, project management, construction management or a related disciplineGood knowledge of project planning, procurement and contract administrationExperience working directly with councils and approval authoritiesConfidence dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and construction teamsStrong commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, programs and project risksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA practical, organised and accountable approach to project deliveryThe ability to manage several projects and competing prioritiesA current Australian driver's licenseThis role would suit an established Senior Project Manager or an experienced Civil Engineer who has moved into project delivery and now wants greater responsibility across significant Canberra projects.
