SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – RETAIL CONSTRUCTION / SHOPFITTING / TURNKEY FIT-OUTJOHANNESBURGAn established and growing business within the retail construction, shopfitting and turnkey fit-out sector is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of complex retail projects from beneficial occupation / white box through to completed store handover.This is a hands-on delivery role for a Project Manager who understands how a retail store comes together on-site, from landlord works and subcontractor appointments through to construction, specialist services, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.Overview:The successful candidate will manage multiple retail projects concurrently, taking accountability for programme, budget, subcontractors, site delivery, clients, landlords and commercial performance. This is not a project-administration position; strong construction sequencing and multidisciplinary site-delivery experience are essential.Key Focus Areas:Manage complete retail projects from Beneficial Occupation/white box through mobilisation, construction, commissioning, snagging and final handoverDevelop and manage detailed project programmes, Gantt charts, schedules and construction sequencingCoordinate multiple trades and specialist services including electrical, lighting, HVAC, flooring, ceilings, plumbing, shopfronts, signage, partitioning, CCTV and security systemsManage subcontractors, suppliers, installation teams, clients and landlords, ensuring effective coordination throughout the project lifecycleTake commercial ownership of budgets, cost control, quotations, variations, payments, cash-flow forecasting and project reconciliationsDrive projects to completion while proactively identifying and resolving site, programme, quality and commercial risks.Experience & Educational Requirements10+ years' project management experience, with strong exposure to retail construction, shopfitting, commercial construction or turnkey fit-outProven experience delivering complete multidisciplinary retail stores, rather than managing only fixtures, manufacturing or a single construction packageStrong knowledge of construction sequencing, site mobilisation, subcontractor management and specialist building servicesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple high-value projects concurrently, including programmes, budgets, procurement, contracts and commercial requirementsStrong client and landlord management capabilities, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and construction informationA relevant Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Engineering or a related discipline would be preferred; professional project management and construction-related certifications would be advantageousIf you have personally taken a retail project from white box to completed store, including the multidisciplinary construction, commercial management, commissioning, snagging and final handover, we would like to hear from you.Mindcor will respond to shortlisted candidates only.
