Senior Project Manager – Power Generation / Industrial EPCCharlotte, NC | Full-Time | Fully Onsite | Up to $200K + Bonus + BenefitsAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex engineered projects within the power generation and heavy industrial sectors.This is a senior, client-facing role with end-to-end ownership of multimillion-dollar capital projects, from contract award through engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction/installation, commissioning, and final closeout.You will serve as the central point of accountability across customers, engineering, procurement, suppliers, subcontractors, construction teams, and senior leadership. You will own project execution, schedule, financial performance, commercial strategy, and customer relationships.The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of project management experience within power generation, EPC, industrial equipment, energy, refinery/petrochemical, or large-scale industrial plant environments.What You'll OwnLead complex engineered projects from contract award through commissioning and closeoutOwn project budgets, schedules, milestones, costs, margins, cash flow, and overall financial performanceCoordinate execution across engineering, procurement, supply chain, fabrication, logistics, construction, and commissioningServe as the primary customer-facing project leaderManage relationships with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and other external partnersReview and manage project contracts, technical specifications, schedules, engineering deliverables, and documentationIdentify scope changes and lead change orders, commercial negotiations, claims management, and contract-risk mitigationEvaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals and negotiate scope, pricing, schedules, and deliverablesProtect project profitability while maintaining strong customer relationshipsLead multidisciplinary project resources across domestic and international teamsIdentify project risks early and drive corrective action across schedule, cost, quality, and contractual commitmentsParticipate in customer meetings and periodic project/site visits as requiredWhat We're Looking ForRequired10+ years of Project Management experience involving complex engineered or industrial projectsDemonstrated experience managing large capital projects, ideally $10M+Industry experience within power generation, EPC, industrial equipment, thermal systems/heat transfer, oil & gas, refinery/petrochemical, energy infrastructure, or heavy industrial/process plantsExperience managing projects across multiple phases of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioningStrong ownership of project budgets, schedules, costs, margins, and financial performanceCommercial and contractual experience involving change orders, claims, scope management, contract risk, and negotiationsExperience serving as the primary customer/client interface on major projectsAbility to interpret technical specifications, drawings, schedules, and engineering documentationStrong supplier, subcontractor, and stakeholder management experienceProficiency with Microsoft Project or comparable project scheduling toolsWillingness to travel periodically for customer meetings and project/site activitiesPreferredBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or another relevant Engineering disciplineExperience with an EPC contractor, OEM, industrial equipment manufacturer, or engineered systems providerDirect experience within power generation or thermal systemsExperience with air-cooled condensers, heat exchangers, cooling systems, steam-cycle equipment, or related mechanical systemsExperience managing projects with multi-year execution cyclesInternational project experience involving globally distributed engineering teams, suppliers, or customersFamiliarity with CAD environments and engineering document-control processesPMP certificationThe Profile That Will Excel HereYou're more than a project scheduler or coordinator. You're comfortable moving between technical, operational, commercial, and customer-facing responsibilities.You can review project financials with leadership, work with engineers to resolve a technical issue, negotiate a change order with a customer, challenge a supplier on schedule or scope, and lead a project meeting with an EPC customer.Most importantly, you understand how to take ownership of a major capital project and drive it through successful execution while protecting schedule, customer commitments, and profitability.
