We are looking for someone who can proactively:Analyze and clarify business and technical requirements.Prioritize requirements and facilitate decision-making.Support technical discussions and solution decisions.Identify and resolve project risks and issues.Ensure project delivery in terms of schedule, quality, requirements, and business objectives.Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Japan and Vietnam.You will also take on line management responsibilities for existing team members. Our team members are already capable of independently managing multiple Japan-facing projects. Therefore, we are looking for a manager who can provide a higher-level perspective rather than micromanaging their daily work.You will support the team by asking the right questions, providing constructive feedback, creating development opportunities, and knowing when to step in — and when to empower the team to move forward independently.In the longer term, you will have opportunities to contribute to the scaling of gTV's Development Organization, including recruitment, people management, team building, and organizational development.What You’ll Do1. Project ManagementManage and drive multiple development projects targeting the Japanese market.Take ownership of schedule, quality, requirements, resources, risks, and project profitability.Coordinate and clarify requirements/specifications between Japanese Business Units / Clients and Vietnam Development Teams.Conduct project planning, task management, progress tracking, and risk management.Identify, manage, and escalate project issues appropriately.Review testing activities and participate in release decisions.Prepare regular weekly/monthly project reports.Manage project resources and support billing-related reporting and settlement.Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.2. Technical & Development EngagementUnderstand and assess the technical feasibility of requirements and specifications.Work closely with Development Teams to discuss and evaluate implementation approaches.Support technical decision-making and help the team identify appropriate solutions.Help prioritize technical debt and technical improvement initiatives, including library/framework upgrades and migration projects.Ensure the Development Team understands not only “What” needs to be built, but also “Why” it is required from a business and user perspective.Improve the way requirements and specifications are communicated so that engineers can proactively propose solutions.Manage and continuously improve Scrum / Agile development processes.3. Stakeholder CommunicationCommunicate directly with Japanese Business Units, Product Managers, and Clients through meetings, email, and communication tools.Understand business requirements, identify underlying needs, and propose appropriate solutions.Facilitate discussions and align expectations between Japan and Vietnam.Build consensus among stakeholders with different perspectives and priorities.Adapt communication approaches based on the project, team, and stakeholder.4. Line Management & Team DevelopmentConduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with team members.Support goal setting and performance evaluation.Provide constructive and actionable feedback.Support the career and capability development of team members.Guide members who are already highly autonomous without unnecessary micromanagement.Identify when intervention, decision-making, or escalation is required.Create opportunities for team members to take on greater responsibility and continue developing their capabilities.5. Organizational DevelopmentContribute to the growth and scaling of gTV's Development Organization.Participate in recruitment, onboarding, people management, and team building.Support the development of management and operational frameworks.Share knowledge and best practices for developing and managing engineering talent in Vietnam.Contribute to initiatives that support new projects and business opportunities.What We NeedMust-HaveProject Management3+ years of hands-on experience in Project Management, with experience managing multiple software development projects.Proven experience taking ownership of:ScheduleQualityRequirementsResourcesRisksProject profitability / financial managementExperience coordinating resources across multiple projects and stakeholders.Experience managing project risks and establishing appropriate processes to mitigate them.Strong stakeholder communication and negotiation skills; Communicating and making decisions based on the broader context, rather than simply following up on requirements.Experience building relationships with Business Units / Clients and understanding their business needs.Experience managing project reporting and supporting billing / settlement activities.Experience collaborating with multiple internal teams and roles, including Development, Product, Operations, and Design.May be responsible for managing projects involving overseas teams/clients.Software Development KnowledgeSolid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including several of the following:Requirement DefinitionBasic DesignDetailed DesignDevelopmentQA / TestingReleaseMaintenance / OperationsPractical understanding of Agile / Scrum development.Ability to discuss technical feasibility and implementation approaches with engineers.Ability to understand technical topics while also considering business and user perspectives.LanguageJapanese: Business-level proficiency equivalent to JLPT N1, with advanced speaking and listening skills.
