Role: Senior Project PurchaserOn-site Model: Easton, PA - on-site 5 days a weekCompensation: $80,000 to $100,000 plus bonus Senior Project PurchaserSummaryThe Senior Project Purchaser supports new product development, engineering changes, and ongoing supply chain operations. This role is responsible for sourcing new components, managing supplier relationships, supporting inventory planning, driving cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring timely procurement of materials. The position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning teams while helping define sourcing strategies and mentoring junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Inventory ManagementPurchase direct and indirect materials and maintain accurate ERP/MRP data.Convert MRP demand signals into purchasing plans and orders.Manage inventory levels, supplier lead times, safety stock, and material availability.Monitor and expedite/de-expedite purchase orders to support production requirements.Resolve supplier, quality, receiving, invoicing, and materials issues.Mitigate supply risks and communicate shortages with internal stakeholders.Strategic Sourcing & Supplier ManagementEvaluate supplier performance, capabilities, and risks.Lead supplier negotiations, RFQs, make-vs-buy analysis, and sourcing decisions.Support supplier quality and delivery improvement initiatives.Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and process improvement projects.Develop contingency plans to minimize supply disruptions.New Product Development SupportPartner with Engineering on new product launches and engineering changes.Coordinate supplier feasibility reviews and qualification activities.Obtain and negotiate supplier quotations and cost estimates.Ensure on-time delivery of prototype, validation, and production materials.Assess sourcing, cost, and supply-chain impacts of product changes.Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.Leadership & Continuous ImprovementMentor and train team members on sourcing and project purchasing activities.Support inventory controls, audits, and departmental KPIs.Improve purchasing processes, tools, and operational efficiencies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, project procurement, new product development, or supply chain.Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory planning.Strong negotiation, supplier management, and project management skills.Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.Experience with global sourcing and logistics preferred.Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.Additional InformationUp to 5% travel for supplier site visits.No direct reports.
