Apply & track with Apply EdgeAs Proposal Engineer, you develop the thermal design and technical content of our heat exchanger proposals. You turn customer requirements into feasible, accurate, well-documented solutions, working closely with the Technical Sales Manager.
TEMA datasheets) as the basis for mechanical design and GA drawings Single-phase, condensing and evaporating services Optimizing heat transfer surfaces, tube layouts and baffle arrangements against pressure drop and fouling Flow-induced vibration assessment Material selection for corrosive and high-temperature service. Experience with exotic materials (titanium, nickel alloys) and/or duplex and super duplex stainless steels is strongly preferred, including an understanding of why they are selected Basic understanding of EN and ASME design principles, to work effectively with mechanical engineers Standards and codes Knowledge of: TEMA API 660 (a plus) Working familiarity with: ASME Section VIII Div. 1 ASME I EN 13445 PED 2014/68/EU Software Hands-on experience with either: HTRI Aspen Industries Experience in one or more of the following. Chemical industry experience is strongly preferred. Chemical industry Process industry Power generation Waste-to-energy Biomass District heating Pulp & paper Education and experience Masters / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent 1–2 years of relevant experience in heat exchanger design or proposal engineering Clear, structured and traceable technical documentation Awareness of fabrication, QA/QC and cost drivers Professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken At senior level, additionally 5+ years of experience in a comparable role Independently owns complex, high-value or high-risk inquiries Mentors junior colleagues and reviews their work Acts as first point of escalation and deputizes for the Technical Sales Manager when delegated Contributes to improving tools, procedures and best practices
