Viridian’s mission is to commercialize a new generation of agile, refuellable satellites and to unlock commercial access to Very Low Earth Orbits, far below where traditional Low Earth Orbit satellites fly. We are looking for energetic and talented people to join our team to support hardware prototyping, culminating in the flight of our satellite with a novel plasma propulsion system.The Role Here is what we expect our Senior Prototyping Machinist to do in the first year at the company:·        Design and stand-up Viridian’s first in-house machine shop including 5-axis CNC capabilities.·        Work with lead engineers to identify core capabilities and facility needs·        Commission machinery and manufacturing workflow.·        Develop and prove workflow for key representative parts·        Begin producing key hardware independentlyEssential skills·        CNC Machining and Setup (ideally 5-axis)·        CAM Programming·        Prototype machining and fixturing·        Metrology, GD&T, and CMMOther skills that may be helpful·        Experience with machine buildout or independent operation·        Quality Assurance systems (AS9100, etc)·        Machine maintenance or troubleshooting·        Other manufacturing processesYou must be very good at·        Working independently to bring concepts to reality·        Understanding manufacturability for prototyping partsYou will love this job if·        You have self-motivation·        You enjoy independently driving team progress·        You are excited to help rapidly create and improve aerospace hardware·        You love finding solutions to problems·        You pay close attention to detailsBenefits·        401(k)·        Medical, Dental, Vision ·        Paid unlimited vacation·        Employee equity optionsImportant NoteThis position will require obtaining and maintaining DoD Secret clearance.
