Quality Manager, you will lead the the Quality team and program on a projects in your assigned location.District OverviewKiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oilsands processing, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments. We also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering branch is a leading-edge division that offers innovative engineering services for our current projects and new pursuits in Canada. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom-designed to meet our shared needs.We are hiring out of Edmonton with project assignments in Western Canada and beyond.ResponsibilitiesManage Quality for all aspects of a project. Generate project quality plans, inspection & test plans, and proceduresWork closely with Construction Supervisors, Schedulers, Planners regarding development and implementation of the project quality system ensuring thorough understanding of the project scope and scheduleProduce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standardsHave a thorough knowledge of the Projects Quality Management System, work instructions and proceduresEnsure work is performed to established technical requirements defined by project documentation including drawings, specifications, procedures, inspection & test plans and work instructionsAlign quality control objectives with construction procedures to achieve product reliability and minimize costConfer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problemsConfer with vendors, subcontractors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project statusGenerate quality reports and metricEvaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standardsIssue notice of non-conformances and stop-work orders, conferring with clients, , and quality personnel to document incidents, contract requirements, and recommend corrective actions.Read worker logs, as-builts, quality checklist, test reports and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to contract specificationsDetermine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employeesManage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific dutiesExecute personnel quality trainingAnalyze operations to evaluate performance of a company and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy changeRecommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum qualityAssist other projects and regions as needed in the implementation of The Company’s Quality Program QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor degree in a related field10+ years of experience in Quality Management in civil construction, oil and gas, or power Proven background as a QA/QC Inspector in large scope projectsLNG experience a strong assetSignificant years of experience managing a team of several quality inspectorsHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organization, time management, and attention to detailAbility to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmentAbility to travel and relocate as business requiresOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectively.
