Location: Flexible / GlobalStart Date: ASAPThe OpportunityWe are working with a leading global proprietary trading firm looking to build out its systematic power trading platform by backing a senior power trader to establish and lead their own trading pod.The firm combines world-class research, technology, and execution infrastructure with significant capital and a highly entrepreneurial culture.

Senior traders are given the autonomy, capital, and resources to build and scale their own teams and strategies, with compensation closely aligned to performance and pod-level P&L.The RoleYou will found and lead a systematic power trading pod across either European or US power markets, taking full ownership of strategy, risk, and team build-out.The firm is looking for a proven trader with a differentiated, scalable edge who is ready to move from running a book to running a business. You will define the pod’s strategy and research agenda, hire and manage researchers, developers, and junior traders, and retain ownership of P&L and risk. The firm provides the capital, technology, and infrastructure, allowing you to focus on building the pod and generating alpha.What We’re Looking For7+ years’ experience trading European or US power markets, with a track record of managing a book independently.Demonstrable audited or verifiable P&L from systematic or quantitatively driven power strategies, ideally with consistent risk-adjusted returns across market regimes.Experience leading, mentoring, or building teams, or a clear ability and appetite to hire and manage a pod.Deep understanding of power market fundamentals, market microstructure, and quantitative modelling.An existing strategy or differentiated approach that can be scaled with institutional capital and infrastructure.Strong quantitative and programming skills, ideally including Python, and the ability to set research direction for others.Experience with large datasets, statistical analysis, and model development.Strong risk management discipline, with experience owning risk limits and drawdown management at book or pod level.Entrepreneurial mindset, commercial awareness, and comfort operating with autonomy.What’s on OfferBacking to build and lead your own pod, with the autonomy to define strategy, structure, and hiring.Significant capital allocation for proven strategies, with scope to scale.Access to institutional-grade research, technology, and execution infrastructure.Budget and support to hire researchers, engineers, and traders into your team.Highly competitive, performance-linked compensation, with substantial upside based on pod performance.GrowthThe firm is focused on backing exceptional traders over the long term.
