Senior React Frontend Developer / Frontend Architect

We work with experienced technology professionals and connect them with complex, long-term projects where they can make a real technical impact.For one of our strategic EdTech clients, we are looking for a Senior React Frontend Developer / Frontend Architect to play a leading role in a large-scale platform transformation.The ProjectThe client is rebuilding a complex legacy platform using a modern technology stack based on React, Next.js, TypeScript, and AWS. The project follows an AI Spec-Driven Development approach, where detailed technical specifications guide the creation, validation, and integration of AI-generated code. You will act as the main frontend technical authority within the team. You will define the architectural direction, establish engineering standards, review AI-supported development output, and mentor other frontend engineers.Your Responsibilities:Lead the frontend architecture for a large-scale platform rebuildDesign scalable and modular frontend structuresDefine component architecture, state management patterns, performance standards, and engineering best practicesSupport the migration from a legacy monolithic application to a modern, component-driven architectureCreate clear and detailed technical specifications supporting AI-assisted software developmentReview, validate, and improve AI-generated code produced using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and GeminiEnsure that AI-generated solutions meet production-level quality, security, performance, and maintainability standardsDefine and maintain frontend development standards across the engineering teamLead technical discussions related to frontend architecture and technology choicesIdentify and address frontend performance bottlenecksMentor and support mid-level frontend developers through code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessionsCooperate closely with engineering leaders, architects, developers, and other project stakeholdersClearly communicate architectural decisions, risks, and technical trade-offsRequired Experience:At least 5 years of hands-on experience with ReactStrong commercial experience with Next.jsAdvanced knowledge of TypeScript and modern JavaScriptExperience designing scalable and modular frontend architecturesExperience working on complex, large-scale frontend applicationsExperience with legacy platform modernization or migration from a monolithic architectureStrong knowledge of frontend architecture and component-driven developmentExperience with at least one state management solution, such as Redux, Zustand, Recoil, or a comparable technologyGood understanding of frontend performance optimizationExperience mentoring or technically supporting other frontend developersExperience working with AI-assisted software development toolsAbility to create clear technical specifications and validate AI-generated codeStrong communication skills and confidence in discussing technical decisions with engineering stakeholdersFluent EnglishNice to Have:Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, S3, serverless solutions, or containersExperience with microfrontend architectureKnowledge of Module Federation, single-spa, or similar technologiesReact Native experienceExperience in the EdTech sectorDutch language skillsWhat We Offer:A key technical role in a large-scale EdTech platform transformationReal influence over frontend architecture and engineering standardsOpportunity to work with modern React, Next.js, TypeScript, AWS, and AI-assisted development practicesTechnical leadership without direct people management responsibilitiesCooperation with an experienced international engineering teamLong-term B2B contractHybrid working model2 to 3 days per week on-site in AlmereRemaining working days remoteSupport from the Algoteque team throughout the cooperationInterested in shaping the frontend architecture of a modern platform and working with AI-supported engineering at scale?
