The role focuses on preventive, acute, and chronic care, including comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, health education, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.The Senior Registrar plays an essential role in identifying high-risk patients, preventing complications and avoidable hospital admissions, and ensuring continuity of care through evidence-based clinical practice, personalized care plans, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.The position also supports the delivery of high-quality home healthcare services through effective use of telemedicine, health information systems, clinical governance, and patient safety practices, in compliance with Ministry of Health regulations, applicable accreditation standards, and organizational policies.Key Responsibilities1. Patient Consultation and Clinical Case ManagementConduct comprehensive medical assessments during home visits and virtual consultations.Take complete patient histories and perform physical examinations within the scope of Family Medicine practice.Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.Identify high-risk patients and initiate timely interventions to prevent complications, hospital admissions, and unnecessary emergency department visits.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals, and lifestyle modifications.Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient feedback, and health outcomes.Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to clinical decision-making for complex patients.Escalate cases appropriately when consultant input or a higher level of care is required.Provide patient and caregiver education regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, medication adherence, and preventive care.Utilize telehealth and video conferencing platforms for virtual consultations, patient assessments, follow-up, and education.Ensure accurate, evidence-based, and timely documentation of assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.2. Quality Assurance and ComplianceMaintain compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, clinical governance frameworks, and accreditation standards.Practice according to approved clinical guidelines and organizational policies.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.Maintain high standards of clinical quality, safety, professionalism, and ethical practice.Contribute to maintaining a safe and effective home healthcare environment.Support compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure accurate documentation for audits and inspections.3. Health Information Systems (HIS) and Medical DocumentationUtilize Health Information Systems (HIS), electronic health records, and telemedicine platforms effectively.Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up.Utilize clinical data and reports to monitor patient outcomes and identify care gaps.Participate in training related to healthcare information systems and platform enhancements.Maintain patient records in compliance with Ministry of Health requirements and organizational standards.5. Patient Safety and SatisfactionApply patient safety principles and clinical risk management practices across all patient interactions.Identify and report patient safety risks, clinical incidents, and adverse events.Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement projects.Provide compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care.Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and expected outcomes.Address patient concerns professionally and promptly.Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction through effective communication, empathy, and quality clinical care.6.
