Its proprietary War-Lock™ platform uses advanced synthetic biology to enable site-specific covalent coupling upon drug binding, supporting a pipeline of first-in-class candidates.Role Description:This position is for an in vitro/in vivo Senior Research Associate or Associate Scientist reporting to the Senior Director of Pharmacology. We seek an enthusiastic, collaborative individual with strong scientific rigor and excellent communication skills to support our drug discovery programs. Initially, the position will have a strong focus on planning and executing cell-based screening assays to support lead selection, as well as in vitro and ex vivo studies to characterize mechanism of action and pharmacodynamic properties of drug candidates. The successful candidate should expect to routinely perform cell culture and conduct experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry, and plate-based assays. As the role develops, supporting the in vivo pharmacology team will become an integral component, including assistance with animal tumor studies including dosing and injections, sample collection and processing, and downstream analysis. Prior hands-on in vivo experience is preferred but not required for a candidate who demonstrates a strong willingness to be trained and develop these skills. Strong data analysis, interpretation, presentation, and record-keeping skills will be essential. This is a full-time laboratory position located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, conduct, and analyze experiments using methods including, but not limited to western blotting, flow cytometry and cell-based assaysParticipate in the execution of in vivo studies including murine tumor inoculations and measurements, intravenous dosing, blood sample collection and tissue collection and processing, as appropriate for level of experience and trainingCollaborate closely with both the in vivo and in vitro team to connect findings across study readouts and support integrated interpretation of drug candidate performanceClearly document, interpret, and present results to diverse audiencesContribute to the organization and upkeep of the laboratory environmentRequirementsBS/MS in biomedical sciences or a related scientific field with 6+ years (BS) or 4+ years (MS) of relevant laboratory experience in drug development and/or cancer researchExtensive experience in tissue culture and aseptic techniquesExpertise in designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry and other cell-based assaysExperience in tissue processing, cell isolation and enrichmentHands-on experience with in vivo oncology models, animal handling, dosing or injections, tumor measurements, and sample collection is preferredCandidates without prior in vivo experience must demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to be trained in animal research techniques and to support the in vivo pharmacology teamStrong computer and data analysis skills, including use of GraphPad Prism, FlowJo or NovoExpress and MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointAttention to detail and ability to identify and solve scientific problemsExcellent communication and organizational skillsEffective and collaborative cross-functional team member in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environmentAble to extract relevant information from scientific literature and online databasesCompensation:In addition to a competitive compensation package with stock options, the company also offers a comprehensive benefits package for our employees and their families, which includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental disability insurance.Job Type: Full-timeAnnual Salary:$88,000 – 136,000Supplemental Pay Types:Annual Bonus – 10%Equity
