We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our biology group. The successful candidate will support routine molecular biology work by executing cell-based assays, protein-based assays, and other cellular and molecular biology techniques to advance our research programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an early-stage company in a highly innovative research environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform molecular assays including DNA/RNA purification, DNA electrophoresis, RT-PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR.
- Maintain and culture mammalian cells under aseptic conditions.
- Participate in routine laboratory tasks (e.g., buffer preparation, assay setup) as well as research-driven projects (e.g., new assay development and qualification).
- Assist in troubleshooting and optimization of experimental protocols.
- Accurately record experimental data in the electronic lab notebook (ELN) and contribute to data analysis, reporting, and presentation at team meetings.
- Work independently on assigned projects while collaborating and communicating effectively across teams to ensure project timelines are met.
- Support lab maintenance and coordinate the ordering and stocking of laboratory supplies.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and good documentation practices.Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in an academic or biotech/industry setting.
- Proficiency in key laboratory techniques, including:
- DNA/RNA purification
- RT-PCR, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis
- Mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to balance routine laboratory tasks with research and development responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with antibody therapeutics
- Previous experience with stem cells or iPSC-cardiomyocytes
- Hands-on experience conducting in vitro screening assays
- Previous experience isolating DNA, RNA, or protein from in vivo samples
- Experience with ddPCR, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, or other immunoassays.
- Comfort working in an ELN-based environment and with basic data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism or Excel.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, early-stage company.Working Conditions
