The organization promotes climate-smart, sustainable farming practices and supports access to quality agricultural inputs to strengthen productivity and resilience across the agricultural value chain.Role Description The Senior Research Fellow is a full-time remote role responsible for leading research initiatives that strengthen eFarming Somalia’s digital agriculture, AgriFinTech, and market systems. The role involves designing and implementing research studies, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and generating evidence-based insights to inform product development, policy engagement, and program strategy. The Senior Research Fellow will prepare research reports, policy briefs, and publications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into practical solutions for smallholder farmers. The role also includes engaging with external partners, academic institutions, and stakeholders, as well as mentoring junior researchers and ensuring adherence to ethical research standards.Qualifications Strong research design, data collection, and data analysis skills, including experience with quantitative and qualitative methods.Expertise in agriculture, rural development, or related fields, with knowledge of digital agriculture, AgriFinTech, or market systems.Proficiency in research tools and software (e.g., statistical analysis packages, data visualization tools, and survey platforms).Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear reports, briefs, and presentations for diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in agriculture, economics, development studies, data science, or a related discipline.Experience working with smallholder farmers or in fragile and conflict-affected contexts is an advantage.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple research activities and deadlines.
