Senior Research Scientist – Machine Learning

Location: UAEWe are looking for a Senior Research Scientist to lead the development of advanced machine learning models focused on financial behaviour.

You will work with large-scale behavioural datasets, applying sequence modelling, representation learning and modern ML techniques to develop models supporting credit risk, repayment prediction, segmentation, fraud detection and early-warning signals.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the technical direction of research and modelling projects.Design, pre-train and fine-tune sequence and representation-learning models.Work with transaction, repayment, behavioural and customer data.Develop reusable customer representations across multiple markets and use cases.Take models from research through to production and monitor performance.Keep up with frontier research and adapt new techniques to real-world problems.Collaborate with data, product, risk and engineering teams.Mentor other scientists and raise the technical standard of the team.RequirementsMaster's or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.Strong experience with sequential, event-level or time-series data.Hands-on experience with transformers, representation learning, autoregressive or masked modelling.Proven experience pretraining and fine-tuning sequence models.Strong Python and SQL skills.Experience with large-scale data platforms such as PySpark, Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery.Experience working with complex, real-world datasets.Experience in credit risk, financial ML, fraud detection, alternative-data scoring, multi-modal data or model governance.
