The company operates in a highly technical and research-driven environment, offering professionals the opportunity to develop methods and tools that contribute directly to the realization of reliable, large-scale quantum computing.MissionThe Quantum Error Correction Researcher will be responsible for developing and evaluating quantum error correction methods for scalable quantum computing systems. The role will focus on quantum error correcting codes, decoding algorithms, realistic noise models, and numerical simulation, with the objective of improving logical qubit performance and supporting the integration of error correction strategies into practical quantum architectures.ResponsibilitiesQuantum Error Correction ResearchDesign and analyze quantum error correcting codes for scalable quantum computing architectures.Investigate logical error suppression, code performance, and threshold behavior under realistic operating conditions.Evaluate trade-offs between different error correction approaches and physical processor constraints.Decoder Development and BenchmarkingDevelop, implement, and optimize decoding algorithms for quantum error correcting codes.Benchmark decoder performance under circuit-level, correlated, and hardware-informed noise models.Analyze decoding accuracy, computational complexity, latency, and scalability.Simulation and Software DevelopmentDevelop numerical models and simulation tools for evaluating quantum error correction protocols.Perform large-scale simulations to estimate logical error rates and fault-tolerance thresholds.Produce robust and reproducible software for research, validation, and architectural analysis.Collaboration and Scientific ReportingCollaborate with quantum hardware, architecture, and software teams to align QEC methods with system requirements.Document research results through scientific publications, technical reports, and software contributions.Monitor relevant advances in quantum error correction and incorporate applicable developments into ongoing work.Required QualificationsPhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated expertise in quantum information science and quantum error correction.Experience with quantum error correcting codes, decoding methods, or logical error analysis.Strong background in numerical simulation, mathematical modelling, or computational research.Proficiency in scientific programming using Python, C++, Julia, or comparable languages.Ability to work independently on technically demanding research problems.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Preferred ExperienceExperience with surface codes, color codes, quantum LDPC codes, bosonic codes, or related QEC approaches.Familiarity with circuit-level noise modelling, syndrome extraction, and threshold estimation.Experience with QEC simulation and decoding tools such as Stim, PyMatching, Qiskit, or equivalent frameworks.Strong publication record or significant open-source software contributions in quantum error correction.
