Operating in a dynamic, multicultural environment focused on pioneering advanced technologies, the successful candidate will serve as the key technical and behavioral bridge between leadership and a highly talented and promising engineering team.This position demands a highly analytical profile paired with end-to-end execution capabilities, along with the ability to translate rapid scope pivots and fast-changing environments into structured workflows and high-quality deliverables.Stakeholder Mapping & Reporting: This position reports directly to group leadership. The group operates across three main pillars: Ballistic Impact, Personal Protection and Armoring Systems; Tests and Material Characterization; and Infrastructure and Protective Structures. The senior engineer will lead and manage other engineers and researchers within an agile team dynamic.Responsibilities:Applied Research: Lead and execute applied research investigations aimed at solving real-world engineering challenges and developing new products and services within the technical pipeline.Testing & Certifications: Plan, execute, and meticulously document field and laboratory tests/trials, spearheading product qualification and certification workflows with third-party testing authorities.Engineering Analysis & Benchmarking: Perform competitive product benchmarking and author detailed technical reports with rigorous scientific, industrial, and commercial standards.Mentorship & Capacity Building: Actively share technical expertise and train junior team members, fostering overall professional maturity across the engineering unit.Infrastructure & Operational Ownership: Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and testing readiness of the laboratory. Proactively manage essential operational tasks to maintain project momentum, such as sourcing equipment quotes, initiating purchase requisitions, and opening maintenance tickets.Required qualifications and skills:Master's, Ph.D., or Post-Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: ballistic impact, blast mechanics and effects, protective engineering materials, structural engineering, or critical infrastructure protection.Strong understanding of protective systems, structural resilience, and engineering solutions for high-impact and blast-resistant applications.Experience using computational modelling, simulation, or analytical tools related to impact, blast, or structural engineering is highly desirable.Familiarity with AI-powered tools to enhance engineering workflows, research productivity, or data analysis.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop clear technical reports and executive-level presentations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills with the ability to synthesize complex engineering concepts into concise reports.Basic to intermediate experience in project coordination and stakeholder management, with the ability to contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present technical information to engineering, management, and commercial audiences.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic research and development environment while maintaining a high standard of technical quality.
